Tried to figure out why it decided suddenly it didn't want to start.  >:(  Did find one plug cap that was dead.  Ran out of time to go farther.

Broke down and parted out what was left of a build date 6/75 750F frame and engine as part of operation shop clean. No camera but we have all seen dirty parts. Boxes of parts to still go through and organize from another summer buying season.

Picked up some parts from the powder-coaters today (sprocket cover, round engine cover on left side, oil filter cover, clutch cover, crash bars).  Looked thru the Clymer's manual as to what's behind these covers, and looks like the ones on the left are "dry", whereas the clutch cover has fluid behind it, along with the oil filter cover (obviously).  Got the sprocket cover on, but ran into some isues with the round one on the left side.  I was able to break loose the three bolts that hold the copper wire gizmo inside, but ended up stripping the head on one of the two bolts that hold the springy magnet thingy.  Looks like I'll just take the bike to the shop, and have them install the rest of the powder-coated parts, and do an oil/filter change while they're at it, since they'll have to drain the oil to install the clutch cover and oil filter cover anyway...will post pics once that's all done...and she'll be done!

Tried again to remove the plate on the inside of the round cover on the left side of the engine, the black plastic piece that has those two springy magnet things.  Ended up thoroughly stripping the heads on the two mounting bolts.  So off I went to Home Depot, and picked up a set of easy out drill bits.  Never used them before, and after about 30 minutes, I had both of the stripped bolts out.  Transferred the innards over to the new powder-coated cover, used anti-seize on the bolts, and started the bike to make sure I didn't mess anything up.  So at least now the left side powder-coated engine cases are on, so next are the oil filter cover and clutch cover (this will involve an oil change), and the three valve covers.

On an unrelated note, I noticed there was a small oil leak down by the right centerstand leg, and thought it might be coming from that cap on the breather tube that was hanging down around that area.  I removed the spring clamp, twisted off the cap on the end of the tube, and all this oil just spurted out (maybe half of a small dixie cup).  I let it all drip out, wiped up the mess, then put the cap and spring clamp back on.  Since I have to remove the tank to swap out the valve covers, I might take a look at that breather hose, and see if there's something I can do (replace with clear vinyl to observe any output, reroute with a loop to keep any fluid from accumulating down at the cap, redo with a crankcase filter, etc).

You may have overfilled the oil a bit, 750's shouldn't accumulate much of anything there just vapor

Took some pics of the powder-coated left side engine cases installed.  In my search for the source of the oil in that one tube, I removed the gas tank and started at the breather hose on the middle valve cover.  Followed it into the airbox, then noticed there was another hose on the bottom "sump" of the airbox, that led to the cap that I unplugged.  So my guess is the oil came from there.  I replaced the breather hose that goes from the valve cover into the airbox with a clear vinyl hose, so I can see what's coming out of the valve cover.

Great to see how easy it was to remove the gas tank, so installing the powder-coated valve covers after they're done should be a snap.  Unfortunately, when I dropped off the clutch cover to get powder-coated, I didn't remove the slotted cap in the middle, or the pivoting gizmo at the bottom, so they're stuck.  I think I'll have the shop install it, and tell them they can use those parts from the stock cover to make it work.  And while they're at it, since they have to drain the oil to change the clutch cover, I'll have them do an oil change and put the powder-coated oil filter cover on when they're done.

More pics to follow...

its a "oil kondensator air kleaning."..it konnekts the "airform oil "and konsentrated it..so it can be tapped off in that blind line..the vaccum from air box sucks it through a "filter" im bottom of airbox..and the dirt oil fills dovn in the line..and can be tapped off....no one do it ;)...sorry for my english..never get it..

Found the conversion bearing that I need to mount the Kawasaki front end on one of my hi-powered Suzuki projects.
Tomorrow, I hope to have a rolling chassis for the new 1230cc powerplant.  ;)

Got my front end put back together after rebuilding the wheel, forks and caliper. It'll all have to come back off again once I get my girl ears powdered but I couldn't resist.

Thanks, that was a ton of work since I did a complete engine tear down and powder coated the case. I'm still debating about polishing the fin edges but I don't think I want to expose the aluminum to future corrosion. I may do it anyway because I like the look.

Installed four stock pistons on a CB750F motor.  It's been almost 18 months since my accident and I'm finally learning to use my left hand with the index finger curled up. :)
