Did, what feels to be, the last ride of the season. It's getting cold up here in CT and I think it's time for hibernation. Have a couple things to do to the bike as it sits like tapered all balls steering head bearing, swing arm bushings and moving wiring and battery under my seat. Not too much but it'll keep me sane for a little while during the winter.

Been poking around for suspension. But I don't know Crap about my bike yet so trying to hammer out whether I can use ohlins or not >:(
I did a lot of research for mine ('77 750 F1) and ended up with '05 ZX6R forks because of the wheels. The rake turned out good since I had to fit an '04 ZX6R swing arm to fit the wheel. The swing arm is about 4" longer than the original, but the F1 might have had a different length than yours stock.
It dropped it as well which looks sick.

I think I still have all the general info on my computer, I'll have a look and PM you if you want.

Found a passage plug loose in a set of CM450 carbs.  Customer complained it wouldn't take gas past 1/4 turn, sputtered, bogged etc.

Yes please do. Any bit of info would help. Your forks are SICK. I would love to make that happen for me if possible. I have a 750 k2.

Sure, I had a lot of links to websites and other info, I will do some digging later on. If I find it all I might start a new thread or add it to an existing one about USD forks.

I'm going to have to put that thread on hold until Sunday. I ended up with about 75 bookmarks on it that I have to dig through, because some are specifically for the ZX6R forks, but I also have general ones. I don't have the time to go through them now and have it make sense right now and if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!

Geeez DH!  I hope it's the PIPES that are hanging from the basement ceiling and not YOU!!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I got my newly powdercoated CB550K frame back from the shop.  Now, just a top-end job, complete motor cleaning and tune-up, new swingarm bushings and steering bearings, and all that reassembly to go, and I'm back on the road.  Oh yeah, and at least four months of waiting for the end of winter.  All y'all down in the Sunny South and West saddle up and take a nice long ride for me.

Here's the post with all the info I found along the way. There's links to posts all over the different fora, this is how I ended up with all the different components and compatibility of those components. Most threads go into detail on their build, others are just lists of dimensions and specs.

Good luck with the swaps, if you need any more info, let me know and I'll see what I can dig up!

Sgt. pinback, Caswell sells a do it yourself plating kit that might be interested in that will save you tons of money if you are going to plate more items such as carb parts, etc.

Rode up to visit uncle Terry (in Australia) and raided his 'bucket 'o spokes' for two I needed for the 500/4.

Shot the breeze for a bit and then left him to his sanding (boy that man can sand).

I used Bill K's milk crate trick and a harbor freight lift to pull the motor for some winter project work.  Once everything was loose it took 3:32 to pull the motor from the frame.  Hope the motor goes back in just as easy. :)
