Rode to work, we are expecting 20" of snow tomorrow.  Gotta run her real good and top up the tank.

forecast is for 8 here. After 70 yesterday and 50 today-go figure.   Pulled the snow blower out of the shed and fired it up just in case the weatherman is correct.

Ha, sorry, Larry, I mixed numbers and units.  8" or 20 centimeters is the forecast.

We're getting 20-30cm starting tomorrow. Riding season is over :( I have a few vacation days coming up. Guess it's time to winterize...

That's the spirit!!! There is always a few days of sunshine that you can ride after most of the snow, ice and sand is off of the roadways.
Just watch out for areas that could have been shaded at varying times of the day that may be hiding black ice.  ;)

Sold It...  To a nice guy who's familiar with this site, so it may be back in the fold again, more so that I was finding the time for, I'm glad it will be on the road more now too.  I'll likely look for another sohc4 sometime in the future, maybe a 350 or 400 next time, probably one that's finished instead of the basket cases that I typically drag home!

Same boat as you in regard to selling. I sold the 550K that I recently picked up. I knew it was to nice for me with 4 kids running around and 2 other bikes in the stable already.

Bought a pair of 40mm UNI filters from Joe's Motorcycle Sale (ordered another pair). Oiled and fitted.
Sprayed the side covers. Replaced the fuel line with Tygon. Replaced the ignition switch.

Fitted the reproduction switch blocks to the bars on the CB500.

Had to cut the locator pins off and file out the ends so the wiring looms could sit outside the bars.

I then found the stumpy ragged remains of a throttle inside the old right hand grip - ah well, time for a new one.

Then spent some time sanding and painting parts, goos hot weather here for curing paint this weekend.

Yep Eric I sold the brown one. Took me forever to get but I knew I wouldn't use it as one should. That condition made me over protective of it in my garage. With 4 kids running around I thought it would be best to move it.

I completely understand. I am finishing a first year Z1 Kawasaki and after breaking in the engine, it will be for sale as I couldn't live with myself if someone were to damage it
in showroom condition. I will be overly cautious during the break in miles for certain.

I got side tracked with another more fun project that has been on the back burner for over a decade. It has made it back to the front burner.

Good guesses so far. (This is a tough crowd)
As I am little bit crazy (perhaps more than a little), I am fusing two great vintage japanese bikes from two competing manufacturers into one hopped up sleeper.
The front end is from an '84 GPZ750 as wheel as the rims and brake calipers. The frame is an '83 GS1100 with a much modified 1230cc engine to warm things up a bit.
I am busy trying to convert a '99 Bandit 1200 mono-shock swing arm into dual shock. Meanwhile, it will roll on the stock 1100E swing arm until I finish the engine up.
I REALLY want/need to additional 1.5" of swing arm length to try and keep the front end on the ground as the early estimates put the engine between 150-165HP.
Not quite sure of which exhaust system I will be using but I am also busy making slight modifications to a stock 1100E black chrome exhaust so that it might look closer to a
stock ancient bike.
Carbs could be one of three sets of current candidates including a set of Keihen (Honda) 33mm smoothbores.
Yes, the steering head had to be machined and custom parts installed for the GPZ front end work. (All balls does not make a kit as the bearing that I needed does not exist world wide.)
I also just received the custom made parts for the Kawasaki rim to work on the rear. So 18" rims on both ends vs. Suzuki 19" &17" rims.
I am also toying with either using the '84 Suzuki ES model mini fairing or the Hanigan fairing that was spendy but available back in the '80's.
See, a simple little project.  ;)
