I think California should be jackhammered off around the perimeter of the state  and set adrift,  could be its own country then

Perfect, we wouldn't have to share our great weather and terrific roads with any mainlanders, or haoles, lol...
Wow! You guys are choosing up sides? I thought we was Americans! Scares me to think how you feel about foreigners :o

Okay, foreigners suck. Were all  rednecks here.  ;)

Unless they're girls, then we love 'em. ;D

But what I did to my bike today was put on some early old crappy streamlined sidecovers that [sort of]  match the  crappy looking primer black clean on the inside gas tank that I have been using. And I contemplated that some day I will put on the tank I bought that is the same factory paint as is under the black primer and which also came with the bike, which had a small crease along the head that leaked. Anyway, I like the black for now.

My neighbor is always asking me when I want to sell [the] bike. Perhaps never until I have a big stable, and then there's the other tank that matches original and doesn't leak. And then there's those non rusted fork ears, seals, and tires hopefully i$ comming this winter.

After all, it is a black bomber. My coincern is that when I put on the nice blue  tins  like it came with I will immideately crash and ball it up  like the PO did at 6,000 miles.

Anyway, new fork ears that arte like pristeen, and fork seals, and probably all balls needle bearings comming soon. Then it will be nice enough where I can't ride it anymore and have to sell it. :-[

Until that time the nice tank wil be right there and I will be getting  close to redline one  this one almost every day. ...

Way off, sorry   :)

It is a screw to set the idle on K0s, need three more.  They were used only up to serial number 1044812 - says CMSNL.

It's not the good people from California that are disliked "socially" by some of us, it's the "nation state" of California's policies that give the place a bad name. And no xenophobia here, just some good old "pub ribbing" about the place. My oldest brother lives in Riverside, so I can't very well participate in jack hammering the joint into the sea.

But don't expect a tearful goodbye should it happen  ::)

I'll take a 75 degree breeze off the ocean over 100 degrees with 89% humidity any time.
Sitting on the patio of "Surfin Donuts" at 7:30 am with 2 donuts a news paper and coffee.
Finish there and fire up the bike, leave San Clemente for Elsinore, via the Ortega Highway,  and stopping off at the look out. My dream vacation...Sorry for the hijack,  I was daydreamin'. Let 'em jackhammer the state. We should all meet there
before the deadline. Ride the bike of your choice. Everyone who rides a motorcycle should see the Ortega highway.

It is the crazy laws and regulations that come out of Kalifornia that drive most people that I know nuts.  I.E.:  almost every container has the statement that it could cause cancer in California ???  It would be nice to ride year 'round tho 8)

The communist state of Californicastan is run the way the the citizens there want it run. Why else would they keep passing all of those mountains of stupid laws including
giving criminals/terrorists that sneak into the state/our country that cannot read or write english a license to drive on the streets????
And voting for all of those commies with a (D) after their names? Pure insanity!!!
They have made their bed and are now sleeping in the dung pile that they created.   >:(

Not to start a massive flame war (which has already kind of begun here): Aren't all Americans essentially that, just 300 years difference? Unwanted immigrants that took over, didn't speak the language and destroyed the existing culture?

Hahahaha! So true! Also, I'm very aware my country is part of what I just referred to: New York used to be New Amsterdam. Harlem is Haarlem, Brooklyn is Breukelen. Weirdly the Pensilvania Dutch are actually German.

Undertook rust removal by electrolysis today with great results.

Had to refine process a couple of time together it right.

NOTE TO ALL: DUCT TAPE OVER PETCOCK HOLE IS NOT ENOUGH!

After checking I left it for a few hours and came back to a tank full if sodium carbonate EVERYWHERE!  Solved by making steel plate and rubber seal.

Had the day off yesterday, so I did some prep for the frame cut/head gasket change and winter storage...

Removed:

Battery (and put on tender in basement)
Exhaust (will re-paint headers and allow them to cure over winter)
Carbs (coming inside for storage and thorough cleaning, and new rubber fuel lines)
Airbox (box is getting peanut oil treatment)
Breather tube from valve cover
Spark plugs

Recommendations for what to do with my gas tank? Should I top it off with fuel and Seafoam?

Mothers back to black on your airbox instead.  I tried both and prefer the BtoB.
Drain it(your tank).  A pint of MMO in and a good shake every week or so and you'll be fine.

I have a case of the B-T-B around here and also highly recommend it. If several coatings/soakings with that does not make it look new or better, then I wash it
and paint it with Krylon Fusion paint for plastics.

I just insured all 5 of my registered bikes with Shannons, thanks to Pete. Pete did a great deal for me, I'd previously had 4 of them insured with "Insure My Ride" and I was happy enough with them too, but with all of the various discounts Pete got for me, the new insurance for 5 bikes is cheaper than the previous insurance was for only 4. I think I better got for a ride! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
