Had the day off yesterday, so I did some prep for the frame cut/head gasket change and winter storage...

Removed:

Battery (and put on tender in basement)
Exhaust (will re-paint headers and allow them to cure over winter)
Carbs (coming inside for storage and thorough cleaning, and new rubber fuel lines)
Airbox (box is getting peanut oil treatment)
Breather tube from valve cover
Spark plugs

Recommendations for what to do with my gas tank? Should I top it off with fuel and Seafoam?

Mothers back to black on your airbox instead.  I tried both and prefer the BtoB.
Drain it(your tank).  A pint of MMO in and a good shake every week or so and you'll be fine.

I have a case of the B-T-B around here and also highly recommend it. If several coatings/soakings with that does not make it look new or better, then I wash it
and paint it with Krylon Fusion paint for plastics.

I just insured all 5 of my registered bikes with Shannons, thanks to Pete. Pete did a great deal for me, I'd previously had 4 of them insured with "Insure My Ride" and I was happy enough with them too, but with all of the various discounts Pete got for me, the new insurance for 5 bikes is cheaper than the previous insurance was for only 4. I think I better got for a ride! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I just got an Insurance quote for three of my bikes - $91 a year total, unbelievably cheap from Dairyland.
My renewal is up next month with Liberty Mutual and was going to be over $200, so this was good news. LM just raised my auto insurance 20% so we dumped them on that.

Any of you guys use Dairyland Insurance?

Well mine cost a whole lot more than that, but I got a great deal for insurance in Oz, all my bikes are now insured for more than I paid for them, so if I do crash one I don't have to worry about the cost of repairs exceeding the bike's value. Also, if I run up the arse of a new car, I don't have to worry about paying for the damage to someone else's vehicle.

Add to the mix that I'll be entitled to $3K to replace my damaged riding gear, and finally, if some prickk steals one or all of my bike's, I'll have enough money to go buy another one. Geez, if someone stole all of them, I could buy that new Indian Chief, and have enough left over for a new Ducati Scrambler! Hmmnn, I'm going out for a few hours, and I don't think I locked my garage.................. ;D

Ha ha, I'll be right over to borrow it Cliff, I had to hand my Ford Ranger back and can't get a bike in the back of my old Subaru, no matter how I try! But yeah, ask Pete about insurance, I'll probably get the cars done with Shannons next. Cheers, Terry. ;D

So Terry, and maybe I missed it, but what does a large comprehensive policy like that cost you in the 'land down under' ?  Steve's Dairyland deal sounds like a real bargain and I just run the minimum also. Its an incentive to not crash---- but bad stuff can happen quick.

Insurance is required here, so if you don't have it you risk a steep fine and/or worse.
You cannot register a vehicle here without it...unless you go to Vermont.
