Got choke levers back from zinc plater, cleaned spare set of carbs, in process fitting together.

Is there a difference between carb No. 3 and No. 4 ?

I sold my Yamaha XJR1300SP today - which means I currently only have TWO BIKES!

At least they are both Honda CB's.

Counted them today. Its been a while and I thought there were about 14-15. Total 20, not counting the dismantled ones but that would only add 2 or 3.

Got both throttle cables and pro-grips as a stocking stuffers and threw them on today. Not sure if it was the new cables or the rerouting of the cables to a straighter, smoother bend, but the throttle is soooo much easier! Feels like a brand new bike.

Took my 550 from on a 200-mile round trip commute and she performed pretty well for an old girl. First longish trip since I saved it from a slow death in someone's backyard.

Slowly prepared myself for a days wiring on the CB500/4 by first meditating until I reached a zen like state where I was one with the loom - and then dicked around for half a day finding 'important' stuff to do on the bike, like carefully fitting the registration label holder.

Then finally I pulled up a stool, a soldering iron and a roll of tape and got to work - got most of the way there today too, only an hour or so more and the magic of electricity will flow through my motorcycles reconnected nervous system.

Cleaning my other spare KO carbs... realized, that I lost one of those plastik-choke-lever-bushings....searched it for 2 1/2 hours .........

...Called my best friend if his got time... drove there... he took the measurement, made a sketch and made me 4 new ones.....drove home.... completed carb job.

Was a good day.

Nothing like Glühwein in winter. :)

Tasty! I have a bottle home of good quality. Spiced up with Cognac, 21.5% alcohol. It's called Glögg in Sweden.
Mmmmm hot but not boiling to not loose any C2H5OH with almonds and raisins as we drink it here.
