Finally removed the massive tail light "tower" structure. Rewired and mounted the rear blinkers in the holes where the frame meets the rear fender. Drilled holes in the rear fender and wired up a Lucas style tail light. Had to drill some holes in the Lucas license plate bracket to fit a Georgia plate. Plugged in a new Emgo ignition switch (the original was fried) and moved it from the bars to its proper place below the tank. Got my local cycle shop to put a new tube in my front tire because the old one went flat at about 40 mph. Called the cops on some dude who tried to fight my neighbor. Had a beer.

Yep. Looking at your avatar, I can guess why you may have wished to tone down that 'tower of tail light power' behind a cafe seat.

Glad you had a beer.

Have another.

Put the front end back together on my K4 after installing All Balls steering bearings and fork seals and boots. Everything went well and the forks ears lined up great. Think I will do a good tuneup/maintenance routine on the engine etc and hopefully be good to go when the robins fly.

Finished a Honda C50 engine (for my brother's C50), to make room for the CB400F engine. It's the spare engine, he's doing 10.000 km per year. After 20.000 km, I just swap engines, gives me time to do things in between other projects. After 20.000 km it only needed a re-bore and a valve job, new points and a new condenser. As an experiment I mounted a carburettor from a more modern C50. Mileage is around 60 km per litre.

My K6 got its new Ikon shocks mounted. Look much better and match the chromed chain guard very well.
I'll restore the old Marzocchi AG Strada later on. Need another bike for them  :D

Been raining most of this weekend but did have a nice ride on the K4 last Sunday....

There is a new home comunity being built about 5 miles from my house. There is an excellent road to ride and at the end they built a beautiful community pool and park on a bluff overlooking the River. One lone boater out...

Put the front forks back together finally.  Seals didn't come in until Saturday afternoon, popped them in with a bar clamp and threaded section of PVC pipe.  Not too bad, had a tendency to wiggle in side to side but I got them seated.

Hardest part of the whole job was remembering how the damper unit was assembled everything else was a piece of cake.
Used a 6 oz can of cat food to measure the new oil (had to use what I had available ;D)

Bought a Mobius action cam, and took it out for a road test.  The setup cost about $130, which was for the camera itself, USB cord, handlebar mount, and 32GB memory card.  Have to experiment with other mounting locations, in order to decrease the vibration.  Also have to figure something out to decrease the wind noise.  But for $130, it does a fairly decent job, IMHO...

I have to wait for road tests. 4WD is my choice nowadays. I'm waiting for parts anyway. My thread repair kit seems to be stucked in New York Airport, USPS.

They actually work quite well.  A large can of cat food is 5.9 oz.  Just enough to fill the tube, but leaves enough room to top off once they're installed.

Had a beer.

Don't the lucas lights look awesome on these bikes? I love mine.

Realized I went the wrong way on a float adjustment, 1st dip into carb territory, sighed deeply, did a tune-up on my back-up and made plans to alter my initial mistake this week.

I'd like to get a camera.  Your video started out good, but then you just followed that car in front when you could have passed or stayed right when they went left.
Try putting something over the mic to lower the wind noise.

I have used a couple of layers of electrical tape myself to buffet some of the wind noise.

Taping the mic would def help with the wind, nice quality as well!

I was looking to get one of the Bullet HD cameras. Have seen them used on a few action sports and car tv shows (recently in Top Gear, Hammonds helmet when he is on the 9000,- pushbike). I like the shape more and hope I can mount it so it sits underneath the helmet itself. Sort of upside down attached to where the cheek cushions sit. The mount looks too tall though, maybe something custom?

The linked post pretty much says it all, nothing has changed. Once I got the Ikons all the handling issues on this bike virtually disappeared.
