It increases over time 3-5 minutes, 500 to 800 rpm. Always has even after rebuilds of engine and carbs. Doesn't worry me a great deal, just curious to see if anyone else knows about it or has the same issue.

You should be setting your idle screw after the engine gets hot. So let it warm up, rev up, then set it and see if it behaves going forward.

I borrowed a starter from Bill Benton and put it to the motor. While it turns it better than mine it is still quite sluggish going through the cycles. I think I may have to hook the other battery to it to make it 24 volts.
On a side note, I've seen some bikes built and displayed in some strange places before. I built my Sportster first time in the living room of my 3rd floor apartment. Stood it on it's back wheel to roll it into the elevator to take it down. I was however surprised when I went into Bills house to see this beautiful CB750 dragster displayed on the dining room table. His house is the most awesome mini CB750 drag race museum I can imagine.
So I will be doing the few things needed to see if this will fire for the first time in 38 years.

We got on the subject of actually eating at the table and the first thing that came to mind was a motorcycle related setup and I had just the start for him. I am giving him my Wrenchware Tool Kit. I recommended some sort of brake rotor for a plate, maybe a cylinder or something for a glass.

Ha ha - my wife puts up with quite a bit but I don't think a dragster on the dining table is going to fly well around here

What are the museum hours Bill and do you charge members for admission

Can wait to see the treatment on the toilet, King and Queen seat ??

I rode my bike to work yesterday, for Ride Your Motorcycle to Work day. I live less than a KM from work (I normally walk), so I took an EXTRA long route. Showed off for some kids on a school bus.

Bchaley40 came over and we did the 3k maintenance on his (free to him) K8. Took it for a spin before loading it back up. Needs some fine carb tuning, but it was running quite well.

New sprockets came by post! These are the sprocket part numbers for JT Sprockets if you're ever ordering stock gearing for a CB750.

I did a group ride a few weekends ago, and rode with a guy on an '87 VFR750 in red, with the white wheels, and dual undertail exhaust. BEAUTIFUL bike.

Attempted to fit main bearings on the 1000 engine. 4 greens and 1 brown comparing the original letters and a micrometer. Neither worked out as planned

All too loose. Ordered a full set of browns and blacks from Yamiya. In stock and about 25% less than US plus 4 day shipping. Back to the drawing board.

Fixed my clutch lever functionality since the adjuster screw had seized, not possible to adjust or remove. Got fresh parts from a CB750 collector nearby. No need to wait for eBay shipping.

Sudden clutch problem when riding gave me the idea to let the Honda tool kit to move in where it belongs, allen tools need to be added, 4,5,6mm.
Hondaman ignition module to move out from tool compartment. Space enough on top of battery.

Dragged the trusty ole kirby out to the flooding garage, vacuumed the water out from around the bikes and shuffled them around to slightly drier areas of the cement floor which currently has a natural spring flowing out of the cracks in the cement..... hope it stops raining soon!

Note- whoever built the garage broke lots of building rules including a golden rule that I have about building sheds- never allow any part of the cement slab to end up being lower than the original ground level!!

Got a "bearing puller" from Canadian Tire...

5/8" sleeved concrete anchor! Going to open it up on the old bearing, and tap them out from the inside. Should save having to mess around with the internal spacer.

I went that route, once. Couldnt get enough purchase on the inner race to get it to budge.
A BFH and a punch were much more effective

Yes that will be my alternative solution.

I went around to a bunch of stores to get a nice big one. Most had only 1/2" anchors. Hopefully this does the trick.

Just tried to stop a leak at the brake splitter. We'll see if it's dry tomorrow...but in the meantime, I replaced the CV axle in my Hyundai. I only say this here because I made a vice grip slide hammer. Used a 650 motor mount bolt as the slide and alternator rotor as the hammer. Worked like a charm! I removed most of the axle first then used the slide hammer for the cup and spindle that goes into the tranny.
