Did you pop it into the dryer for a few minutes first to warm it up? Steam cycle or dry heat?

Put on about 180 miles yesterday. Beautiful, warm, non-windy day on the Great Plains... pretty rare. I now know why the CB is rumored to stand for City Bike. That is where they are meant to stay! Kidding, as I'm sure many members tour on theirs, but my back is killing me. Need to order some Hagon's asap.

LOL I think the 550 CB is as comfortable as they come when riding. Its on the highway with heavy winds when it gets scary. I am a buck 50 so wind gust can be scary!

I am completely to blame, as I haven't ridden much in the last 10 years..... and I'm out of shape. Instead of cycling this summer, I have been working on this bike. And oh yeah..... I'm running drag bars with stock pegs. Derp!

I had drag bars on a 750. I couldn't stand them. Swapped in the super bike and a completely different feel.

I think I'll be replacing my drags with those pre-drilled super bikes from DCC at some point in the next year or 2.

+1 for superbike bars. You can tuck when you need to, but you're still "upright" when going slow.

+2 for superbike bars.  That's what I put on my CB650, and I think that's what I put on my VT500, altho those bars might've been GP bars.  But superbike and GP bars are pretty close in dimensions.

Upon closer look, it appears that I put superbike bars on the CB, and GP bars on the VT...

Back from the drawing board  ;D  Got my bearing sets from Japan. Ordered last Tuesday night and the mail man brought them to me on Saturday!!

Tried the brown set but they were still too loose for my taste after Plastigaging so I tried the blacks and they look OK. Good thing too since they are the thickest. Put the cases together. Next up is pistons, rings, cylinder studs and cylinders. We'll see what the next few days bring.

Fitted the rings on my 71mm 1000 APE kit. Installed them on the pistons. Broke out the APE studs. Got my cam chain tensioner stuff together along with the base gasket.

Got the call from my powder guy to come pick up the Lesters. Need to drop off the frame to have the Gordon kit welded in and then a good coat of metallic silver.

Next up is Loctite and torque the studs, install the pistons and slide the cylinders down over the pistons and install the All Balls bearing kits on the Lesters.

Got the studs installed. Got the pistons installed. Got the cylinders installed. It rotates fine. Picked up the Lesters. My powder guy did a helluva job. Look great. Dropped the frame off for Gordon's Kit to be welded in place. There was a sign on the door "closed" but I found a garage door open. The guys were prepping a quad for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb on Sunday.  Left it with them. Doing a little yard work too so my bike progress is slow but deliberate  ;).

Gotta work outta town the rest of the week. Next up is wheel bearing install. Install the head and cam then degree it. Pick up the frame next week and drop it off at the coater. Few other odd and ends on tap before the frame is coated.

Ordered my tapered steering bearings and wheel bearings... All Balls for everything from http://www.canadasmotorcycle.com! Now I can get my wheels and swingarm all done up, I'm going to save the steering bearings for the winter.

The previous owner of my house left something like this:

in the garage... Couldn't figure what it was for until the other day. Bearing race remover! This will be helpful for the steering bearings job.

Ordered cush drive rubbers and a new o-ring for the rear wheel/sprocket carrier, new tongued washers for the rear sprocket, and new lockplate for the front sprocket. All from my local stealership.

Also ordered a new shield for my helmet, and some new gloves.

Got a few stickers for the CJ360T side covers.
I have a buddy who has a sign shop. He reproduced these for me.
I was like dude, I only needed two!
He said it was just as easy to print twenty as two. ;D
Might see if any other CJ owners over at the Twins forum need any of these.
