This is from Dolomites too!! Italy, looking back along the road from Austria. Same mountains?
It is 30 years ago, July 1985. (I have shown this before, time for new photos)
This was at the Karerpass. http://www.alpenpaesse.co/ITALIEN-Karerpass_p146
How about a 30-Year-Anniversary trip? I'd join you.
For me, it would be wonderful to visit Austria with surroundings again.
I have talked with my family about my motorcycle adventures. Especially driving thru Germany, Austria and finally go for a swim in either Italy or former Jugoslavia (Slovenia or Croatia). We talked about doing the same by car. We have not done that yet. I bought a large 3 room tent for it. We have had training camps here in Sweden, the islands Öland and Gotland.
Last year I was able to get a NOS luggage rack for my old Givi bags I bought end of 80's. eBay is fantastic.
I'm not sure my wife will like a bike tour. Zell am See is (was) a nice place back then. Last time I was here was 1987 then Rimini. The sea is much clearer on the Jugoslavian side. There are so many wonderful places to view in the alps. Cortina was a nice place too.
I'll massage their brains until next summer. I hope we can do the trip. Unfortunately by car. Our son will be 19 years then so he might get own plans until then which open up for other discussions. Sitting on a bike for hours is maybe not all womens dream. First trip I did back in 1984 was with my current girlfriend I lived with. It was very close see took the train back home from Jugoslavia when I told her to do so when I was tired to hear her constant complaints. We separated 2 months after....
I'm currently waiting for taking my bike out on the road to enjoy my latest cam install. Today with different carb jetting, hopefully the correct one. I have bad weather here, rain and thunder which means good weather with sudden vertical tsunamis.
