Went for a decent ride on her today till it got hot....102, oh and bought a matching white helmet for me!  8)

Her second gear is worn out, I have been shifting through it for years now.

I will open the engine up, mesude and see what needs to be done.  Project for this and maybe next winter.

Won a '76 motorcycle license plate from my state that I will be able to use in lieu of a collector plate (40 years old) next year on my 550K2. Or... maybe I'll opt for a special letter plate. What are popular special letter plates used on our SOHC 4's?

Spent the day yesterday and an hour today completing the framing and HVAC of my basement. Couldn't stand it any longer so I went out to the garage to play. More gathering, fitting, cleaning, etc. Slow but sure progress. Working on mocking up the front end and seeing what I need to order while waiting on the 78 F rear parts. I have MOST of what I need for the front but can't find my fork caps and the dreaded right control has the plastic box for the starter button broken. I need to break down the caliper and see what's inside and kit it. Also need to find ONE headlight stay bolt. Fits these models:

I did this last weekend! 4-4 test drive.
Changed my avatar today. From the old look from 1984 to latest look last weekend.
New CB750 OEM mirrors in the process. I have a new OEM seat in a box in my garage... ;)

Which ones? Airbox to carb, or carb to head?

I noticed that the aftermarket carb to head intake rubbers seemed to increase in length from left to right on my 78K to the point that I had to extend the airbox mounting hole to the rear (in the tab on the frame) with a small grinding stone in the Dremel to allow the airbox to shift to the rear about a 1/4". Otherwise I was fighting the airbox to the point of nearly cross threading the mounting bolt.

That picture is old vs new, new ones were all the same, 750, 77 78 k or f only, fit well.
Other ones had different lengths in each set.

Installed the baffles in my No numbers 4-4 HM300 replica. Very nice to drive, so smooth and relaxing. The baffles had thick layer of fiber quilt around. I removed that when it should choke engine completely.

New OEM mirrors on too.
