Well I decided I needed another bike to ride around Canberra, where I'll be working for the next 5 years, I wanted a new Indian Chief, but I think I'm also gonna need a new car soon as my weekly 1000 mile round trip from Melbourne, plus my daily commute is starting to take it's toll on my 20 year old Subaru. I still wanted an American V twin, just an affordable one, so I bought this:

21 years old, and only 4000 miles on the odometer, I think it'll be a nice ride! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Nice one Terry.

Well, I decided I needed a CB750K rather than another F'ing F - so I got onto this really nice bloke I know who lives up the road from me and has a huge shed full of CB750 stuff.

Sure enough, he has put together a great package deal for me that will see me on a nicely turned out CB750K2 with an 836 kit and pretty much everything else stock.

And the current colour choice is that beautiful metallic Bacchus olive green.

Verified that the baffles cannot be in the 4-4  (Yamiya no numbers HM300 replica). Too restrictive despite no wool used.
It sounds better and have much better response without the butt plugs.
The bottom end is totally blocked (the beginning of the baffle/diffuser. Cut the inner end that will open up the tube might be an alternative for longer trips.

I do not understand how it's possible to drive with the wool on. It must block the flow completely!

It might just be the Yamiya copies Pewe, I had to use the buttplugs on my genuine HM300's, they were way too loud without them. Cheers, Terry.

Pay no attention to the nay-Sayers Eric, the CX500C is a fine motorcycle, once you ditch the little back wheel, add Murray Feldman's carbs, dump the exhaust and put some decent tires on it. Or just send it to me......... ;D

Took carbs off my '73 CB500k, put new float needles and seats in, adjusted float levels, downsized main jets from 100 to 98. Got carbs back in without any blood.
In spite of all this, I think the best thing I did to solve my variable idle problem was to use some Yamabond on the intakes. The o-rings seem to be a bit undersized and I think there were some vacuum leaks there.
Anyway, she started right up, and my initial test ride was good!
Also stripped paint off tank in prep for painting!

Found a PO wiring kerfuffle...

The main ground wire for the headlight bucket came loose. The Acewell gauge started flickering while I was riding, and then went completely dead... but I was still riding. Engine still running. HMMM. Then when I tried shutting off the bike and fiddling, it wouldn't come back on. Figured some sort of loose wire... boyyyyyy was I right...

EMergency roadside repair... stripped the wire back and taped/ziptied the bare wire end to the ring terminal. Worked well! Going to do some major rewiring work this weekend.

I don't see Eric putting $2000 into this bike he paid $300 for and then would be worth $1200.

My 750 sat and watched me work on my lil' ol' 500. For some reason I've got weak spark in 1-4. I haven't checked 2-3 yet. I admit it could have been low voltage though. Going to check again when the battery is charged.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.
