Ha ha, well without wanting to sound mean, every motorcycle forum on the Internet has a "What did you do to your bike today" thread Eric, so if Derek didn't start it here, someone else would have........ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Not true Terry, the 2 Kawasaki forums I am on don't have a thread like this one that I have seen, maybe I'll start one!

Yeah, sorry Steve, I don't have a Kawasaki so I'll qualify my previous statement to "Every Honda, Harley, BMW, and Yamaha forum on the Internet have a "What did you do to your bike today" thread, obviously Kawasaki are a little behind the times. Start one Steve, and the Kawasaki version of Eric will kneel at your altar..... ;D

Getting back on track I am going to take a bucket of 1986 XL600 engine to a friend of mine on Thursday so we can see if it will live or die and hopefully gently give her a new cam chain and Love and a few green beers maybe. Terry just for you if you recognize  this pig on the last pic  ;D ;D

You've got some great bikes there Eric, lucky for you I don't live closer or I'd be hooking up my little red trailer! Is that an XL or XR 600? I hope you get it back together, they're a superb dirt road tourer! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Got my brand "new" legendary gas tank fixed.... seemed they did some #$%* work putting the bracket on and when i got it from a guy here we both didn't know it because they covered it up with the bracket but when adding gas.....it was more then noticeable.

put a new rear tyre on the vmax (Shinko 170/80-15 $180 fitted, not too bad a price) and got a price for a set of Heidenau road/trail tyres for the 750 , wicked chunky things and about $450 for a pair

the vmax wheel won't be going back in until i've cleaned some of the crud off the back end of the bike, hadn't realised how bad it was until i got it up on the magical elevating bench to take the wheel out - also want to take the arseugly chrome shrouds off the shocks
i blame Terry

It's much easier to get the CJ360T to idle down and sync the carbs when you replace the carb diaphagm that has a giant rip in it!

(A rip that wasn't there when I originally rebuilt the carbs.)

Who knew?   ::)

I might actually be in danger of being able to ride this bike after four years of restoration.. :o

Dremel upper case to fit 900cc bores using sleeves that "do not need case bore". Used and old cyl with "tapered" sleeves, OD 70mm. Better cyl with modern pistons is on its way.
Hub with new rubbers inside and all bearings replaced when the eBayed clutch w hub have unknown use.

Time to clean all engine parts and put them together.

Ha ha, Steve has a way of putting his foot in his mouth, don't he? Over here "Stinko's" are about the cheapest tyre you can buy, but $85 US is around 112 Aussie bucks at the moment, so considering that most bike shops charge around $90 per hour for labour, that's probably a fair price. I've gotta get a new 180/55-17 for the back of my magnificent FJR1300 this week, but I won't be buying no steenkin' Stinko for it, so I'm expecting to pay up to 300 bucks (AUD) for that sucker......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Unfavorable exchange rate for them. I just followed the Weber link to the videos. An Aussie operation. They have NEW Webers DCOE40's at AU$539 which makes them damn near US$400! Send me a pair Terry!
