Rode it 140 miles and it was cool. More like cold.

My record for a cold start to the morning is -3C. I have poor circulation in my hands so no matter what I do my fingers are always feeling like they're on fire when I get to work. Rest of the body is always OK... just fingers falling off.

Dropped a few parts back to Terry, had a look at a bike he is finishing off to fully understand my wiring requirements and then got totally blown away by the mans generosity and support for the charity I run called Good Deed Garage.

Thanks Terry - you are a truly generous man.

Two wheeled pub crawl, woohoo! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

In the process of fixing a stuck float, a secondary main fell out.  It took a while but I eventually found it.  Can't ride for few days while I wait for new o-rings.

Still scraping gaskets and such on this XS650.
Yamaha may have been king of the two-strokes but their four-stroke seems a bit primitive by '70's standards, imho.

Well I'm hoping that my annual bonus will cover a trip to the US, and maybe another bike or two to bring back to Oz? Or I could take the wife...... ;D

Do it Terry - and make sure you ride over there.

One of the best riding days of my life was a day in the Catskill Mountains with dagersh.

Him on a Guzzi and me on a CB750F1 - just a magnificent day.

Yeah mate, my sister still lives in California (but comes home every few weeks so she can keep her pension........) so I've got a base there, but there are so many guys I'd love to catch up with all over the US I'd have to take a year off to see them all! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I reckon once you hit 20,000 posts - everyone on the forum should give you ten bucks.

Then you can take a year off and go and personally thank everyone of them for the ten bucks.

Should only take you a week or more on the forum to get there ...

Hmmmnnn, well as much as I'd appreciate 10 bucks from everyone, I just worked out that it'd take me roughly 6 months to post the last 700 that I need, and by then it'll be too cold in most states of the US to ride Cliff, so I'll have to do some serious brown nosing and get that bonus...... ;D

Learned that there should be 4 things (in order) mounted to the stepped bolt at the end of the rear brake panel bar. k5 750...
10 mm split washer, 8mm flat washer, nut, cotter pin. If the 10mm split washer is missing, the bar loses some of its rigidness
to freeplay, and can allow the backing plate movement during braking. The force of the wheel being enough to overcome
the axle nut torque as the shoes grab the drum. It can ruin the bushing in the brake backing plate (where the axle passes thru).
Seemed like the axle could slip and or cock sideways either way, depending on when braking or accel. with this condition as well. I fixed mine and learned a bit If my theory is correct ???.

Excellent!  I play Tenor-style banjo in my Irish band - what method? Clawhammer? Scruggs?

Found a little local tiddler yesterday and at a very affordable price. Dad bought it new in 1972,put 1300 miles on it and gave it to daughter. She never rode it and and sat for decades stored in the garage. Son who lives in China came back 3 years ago for a summer and fiddled with it and got it running, drained the gas and went back.
Its a Yamaha 1972 LT2 100 . Put a slave tank on the gas line and it fired right up and made enough smoke to take care of my Zika scare in the lowlands of Comstock for awhile  ;D Played with it today just a little with some steel wool while working on something else and was pleased, think it will clean up well . Have a good friend who is an excellent restorer and former member here who has a Grandson who is just coming of age to twist a throttle and I think this may be a good way to give him a start-- kind of like on a machine we did  ;)
PS-You like my buddies little dog-every shop needs a watchdog-his name is Brutus !!
