Wow, Evan's mother in law rides a Harley (I love her already, is she single?) Eric's bought a Bandit (one of my favourite bikes that I've never owned, dammit!) and Dwight's got a magnificent K0, I hope mine looks half as nice as that one when it's done!

Well being that I'm as tough as nails (and that's rusty nails, buddy) I braved the rain and sh1tty weather @ 0630 and rode the mighty FJR1300 to work again this morning, and it was just as sh1tty on the way home this afternoon. Who cares, any ride is a good ride, yeah? Yeah? What about you Cafe guys over there, yeah? What? No? Woosey boys..........

Anyhoo, I shoved a can of Monster ("Heart Attack in a Can") in the cup holder this morning for the ride in to work, and  had no problems for the 22 Km ride, it did just what it's supposed to do, the bike leaned left, leaned right, accelerated hard, and braked (not so hard, it was raining....) while the can didn't move from the vertical. Great stuff, tomorrow I might go thru the drive thru at Macca's (McDonalds) and try a cup of coffee! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Picked up a new machine Saturday to add to my "Big Dawg" collection.  Its a 1999 Suzuki Bandit 1200S.  Now lets see if I can find a good FJ1100/1200 next that still has all its gears in the tranny :D

Nice! I like the color.

That's a sweet adjustable C spanner mate, where'd you get that? Hey if the damage to your forks is above the seal, just pop in a new deal, glue the broken piece back in, and replace the dust cap and worry about replacing your slider next time..... ;D

Heat those old seals up with a heat gun first and some penetrating oil to make them come out easier.

I would agree with you guys about a heat gun and next time i'll do it but... i'm not sure that would have mattered this was a barn find with lots of rust and bee hives, and i think blowing to hard would have maybe broke it haha. i think i found a replacement for kinda cheap.

Got my bike running and passed the vehicle inspection. Day after I noticed that left front caliper was leaking. I cheaped out when ordering parts. I was thinking about the std caliper piston when order a complete right brake doing dual. "The pistons did not leak last year"

I replaced the o-ring and found rust pits on caliper. Removed that with nail and 1000 grit paper.  Leak arrived shortly.

I was lucky to find a NOS brake piston in stock (last one) + seat pad + seal where I bought my bike 1979, 90km from home. Mounted it and now hopefully OK!!

Strange.... bleeding the front brakes still no problems, easy and quickly done when gravitation will do most of the work. This time with dual front calipers. 0.5m hose on bleeder screw that is open, no need of pumping, closing, pumping....... Just open it and let it bleed, slowly press the brake lever. Air bubbles out from the hose soon with fluid only, not letting air in. Refill MC with fluid during the process. Cover tank and other painted areas with a clocth or old clean sheet.

I've read many threads about bleed problems....

Beautiful work Strybey, isn't it great fun having cool machines to make useful mods? I went for a ride with 6 other FJR1300 riders yesterday, had a great ride (400 Km's) riding with guys my age (all in their 50's) who still love to ride fast, so saw 220 KPH at one stage, and wore the flat band out of the middle of my rear tyre scraping my boots around corners.

I was talking to one of the guys about some Chinese "adjustable footpegs" I bought for mine and he told me that he had a set, but they didn't fit, so I mentioned that I've got a lathe and a mill in my garage, and there's not much I can't make fit my bike. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I've been looking for  new rear wheel to replace the bent one on my K4. I stumbled on an add for a parts bike on craigslist saturday morning during my normal weekly browsing. Ended up getting a mostly complete 74 parts bike plus a spare engine and three totes of parts for $250 :) So now I have my wheels and a few spares I needed and can sell the rest off and make enough to buy new tires too. Not a bad deal at all.

No title and its missing a few pieces necessary to make it a runner. Made sure of that on purpose otherwise I knew I couldn't trust myself not to try and fix it up.
