75 - 78 cover will work just don't have any input on "brands".
Thanks Jerry,I was tempted to PM you as you are the Guru. I thought the 77-78 F had a slightly different shape but will give one of these e-bay covers a whirl.

Hey Eric...I've replaced a couple of seat covers, but not an F'r, have had good results using a quality cover.  Resist the urge to buy the cheapest one, there is a difference.  Gumtwo has received good reviews here on the forum...

I'll check them out. Looking for seat covers kind of PISSES me off. E-bay gets almost 1400 hits and have to wade through tons and tons of cafe, brat and all that other fine stuff.  WHOOPS wrong thread !!   ;D

I pulled the rear tire and rim off the CB750, getting ready to swap a Dunlop TrailMax 130/80-17 onto the Comstar rim. I think I will take my own advice, and replace the brake shoes while I am at it, they are OEM Honda shoes, so they could be originals. The TraiMax looks like a nice grippy tire, they have good reviews, and it cost me $20 at my buddies cycle salvage, was on a BMW GS adventure bike. The drum looks like new, which is a nice surprise! Will get to lube up everything, and check the chain lube, brake cam, etc while everything is apart.

looks good Charlie, can you run tubeless tyres on those Comstar rims? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hehe, well if not that dang Dunlop D404 was so stiff it didn't need to hold air... but yeah, this Dunlop Trailmax seems to be a good tire, and it is holding air ok!

Ha ha, I had tubeless tyres on my F2 and was shouted down by the resident "experts" Charlie, but like you, I didn't ever have a problem with my tyres either. ;D

Shimmed the valves in the 750/3.  Really glad the owner of the old yamaha shop didn't toss out the box of shims he bought decades ago!
Cause number two's intake was bedded in pretty deep!
This correction brought the compression up where it belonged!

Cool! The Duplicolor in those cans should be acrylic lacquer, and not enamel, so you should get a nice paint job out of that! You may consider a 2k clear, after the clear you have, just let it cure for several days, wet sand the tank with 800 grit wet/dry paper and then prep it for the other clear. The 2k clear is gas and fuel resistant, where the Duplicolor clear isn't. I found ShopLine Urethane 2k clear to work over the Duplicolor lacquer.

Spent 3-4 hours figuring out exactly what I want/need to finish this CB500 build and ordered parts online to the tune of $1,400.

It may or may not be true that every time my wife walked through the room I pretended to be designing a pavilion in Sketchup, rather than blowing our rent on motorcycle parts.

Installed the painted cam cover in place of the chrome one, replaced the peeling chrome chain side cover with a polished regular one, removed the unreliable oil pressure gauge and replaced it with a regular oil pressure sensor.

Tomorrow the clutch cover and field coil cover

Did today what I should have done after last ride last year. Cleaned the bike, high pressure cleaned the chain and around both sprockets to remove all old grease and sand. Noticed that chain still is golden. Chain got new chain grease (Motorex spray) after most of the water was gone.
Started it and let it idle for 10 minutes to make it warm and dry quicker. Old fuel in carbs burned up.
It's ready for a ride... me too  8) A nice long slow 200 km ride to get used to it, and bike with me.

I finished up the installation of the replacement drive side cover and alternator cover and installed new hinge pins on my seat.

I shimmed out my left side case guard to get a little more space between the guard and the case. This bike was clearly dropped at some point in the past. Both the case guard and the shift lever have been welded back together.

Tonight I hope to get the clutch cover polishing done and get it installed. After that all that is left to be ready for the season is to set the valve clearances and shorten the drive chain a couple links. I replaced the chain on my way through Oklahoma last summer it has less than 2k miles on it, but from day 1 I had to use almost all the available adjustment to get the tension correct. I'm going to take out the links to get it where it should be.

These are before pics, you can see there is no clearance and that the left side guard is clearly bent upwards.

An extra tacho for my K6 refreshed with satin black by Rust-Oleum rattle can. I have read about good things about Rust-oleum.
It smells almost nothing! No sweet candy like chemical smell. I hope it will stay put where I sprayed it.
It was some rust that had broken thru the stock black. Sanded with 400 followed by 800 paper. One layer satin black.

Nice. I use a chassis black that Harbor Freight sells. It also almost exactly matches the gloss on the frame. You can't even tell where I touched up my 550's frame except that it is cleaner than the rest.

I was looking for a chasssi black, POR 15 or another brand. Rust-Oleum was available where I ordered vinyl silver paint for seat Honda stencil.

This is the stuff I use. It seems to go on nice and thick and dries smooth

Be careful with POR15.  Great product, but it's not meant to be exposed to sunlight, it will turn grey if exposed.

Well things are getting out of control. Stopped down for awhile at the shop this afternoon and was going to do a simple drop the lower fork legs and change some seals and by the time I left the whole front end was gone  ;D  Help Momma no legs or arms !!  When I really got looking it over the steering was very notchy and bad so checked it out and decided to just go with some tapered bearings I had on the shelf and ditch the old ball bearings. Old races and old fork seals all out and the lower triple is painted with Rustoleum (brushed on,yummy) and drying. Guess it will be easier to touch up the frame now with all that junk removed ;)  The Effin' F'er money pit continues later------------ :)
