Have yet to see a RE in person. Really curious to see just how well it's made and rides. Please report back soon.

I haven't ridden a recent RE model, but I was very happy with my 2002 Bullet 500ES (electric start). It was my gateway back into riding in 2006 or 7 after a 20 year break.

It wasn't fast, but it was lots of fun, well made, and sounded terrific. I got a lot of positive attention from that bike, particularly from Chicago cab drivers.

Thanks guys, I loved my test ride, and sales of these things world wide is so strong the factory can't keep up with the orders, so we're happy to have a shiny new one, at long last. Once we get our hands on it and get some miles under the tyres, I'll let you know my first impressions, but I think its going to be a great first bike for Tim, and also a great addition to the herd! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Picked up a 76 today. For some reason I missed this for over 30 days. I asked the kid when he listed it for sale and he said well over a month ago. I was the first person to reach out and she had to come home with me today. 10k original miles. I have every registration since new. All documents were in the manual under the seat. Also the bull nut remover I left with the seller due to them having a 144 acre farm with Black Angus steers. Prior to removing the fairing and luggage racks, there was possum poop, piss everywhere and pussom hair.

You must feel safe that your son has a bike that is not racing inspired with 150-200 hp reaching 300 km/h. Half of that power is enough to really enjoy the roads and nature on a bike.

That's a great looking K6 mate, well done! I'm glad you took that poxy fairing off, but I kinda liked the bags? ;D

Thanks Per, I think it's only got about 40 BHP, but plenty of torque, so it'll keep up with traffic fine, and they are a really nice handling and braking bike with Harris frames and Brembo brakes, so I think Tim will keep up with me on my Harley or CB750, which are the twho bikes I ride the most anyway. Once he's got his full license and wants to try something a little quicker I'll have both RC51's in the garage, so he can have some wicked fun. ;D

Good progress this weekend, but still didn't finish the mechanical.

- I drilled and installed 2 roll pins like what Godffrey does with his kit to make sure the speedometer drive flange doesn't move.
- Balanced the front wheel.
- repainted the center of the right side rotor center where I had gouged out a pockets in my early attempt to adapt the drive flange.
- Installed new fork seals and fluid and reinstalled the forks.
- Sorted the spacing for the caliper brackets and installed the calipers.
- Swapped the front master cylinder and mocked up the lines.
- Made up a bracket for the brake line splitter. The dual brake splitter won't just bolt up to the '76 lower where its splitter went. I had some spare aluminum around the garage I was able to repurpose.
- I replaced one of the headlight shell bolts that had gone missing and painted up the shell.
- Replaced the burnt out bulb in my right rear turn signal.

I bought my March 1973 manufactured CB 750 a month ago online. Today I was able to bring it home after a 1300km drive. It's still on the trailer but hopefully tomorrow it will make it into the workshop.

Thanks for both of the welcome messages. I have always wanted an earlyish CB 750 since I first saw one when they were new. My involvement in motor racing has always been my priority but now it's time to fulfill a few dreams.

HELP! 75 CB400F RUNS GREAT WHEN COLD BUT NOT WHILE HOT
« Reply #27822 on: May 04, 2019, 01:50:56 pm »
Hello guys. I have a 75 cb400f supersport that I rebuilt this isn't my first sohc build iv done a couple but have ran into the same issues with a bunch and never fixed it just sold them. The bike is completely stock besides a shorty reversed cone muffler. Jets are stock and carbs cleaned. New coils, points ect. The bike starts and idles like a champ and I can ride it with no issues but when it gets hot going from a stop it sputters and the clutch feels like it engaging when the hand clutch is pulled all the way in at a stop. The choke does help start when cold but doesnt need it for more than 5 seconds or it will shut off. Has a new air filter I tried running the bike with the air filter out when hot and it didnt like it. I want to put a Spirit of America sidecar on it soon but want it running 100% before I add 150 pounds to it. Any help would be appreciated

Reinstalled the exhaust, hooked up the temporary tank and started it up.  It started without any issues,  so it appears that I  hooked up my Hondaman ignition correctly.
