Started carb rebuild on '82 Yamaha XJ650LJ.  They are pretty crusty inside and out.....

I’ve got a heated 30 litre ultrasonic cleaner that brings carbs up like new. Spotty had a really good hack, he’d buy an electric orbital sander and strap it on a beer cooler, fill it with soapy water and turn the sander on to vibrate the crap out of it. Usually the sander would blow up after a couple of uses, so he’d take it back for a free replacement.

Ha Ha.......I did the same thing on a plastic coffee can. Torn the fabric off the sander pad, so can't stick a sanding sheet on it no mo.

I put the CB down in one of my best buddies basements where my 550 is that I've owned for the longest is. We had a decent extra work space down there but it's full of motorcycle parts and parts for his right hand drive s14.

I started to put up the extra parts up for the CB750 in my shop.

Tonight at work I threw together another electric box/battery box in the Tig booth. Didn't take enough time cutting my parts so had to use extra fill rod. God thing it's going on the 500/550 rat chopper.

I think that you have Rocketosis. You need help. Send me a ticket and I'll come over and ride it for you so it isn't left abandoned in your shop or hiding in your mate's shop......

I hope that the basement has a roll up door to ride out with and not just stairs for access. Back in 1974 I put my 450 in my dad's basement down the bulkhead stairs with help.. going back up in the spring was a bear...but a 750, that would be another story.....

I’ve only had my ‘07 Classic dyno’d after I installed the Jardine pipes, K&N filter and PC3 in 2009 Georg, and it was putting out 140 BHP and 147 foot pounds of torque at the back wheel. The black one, with an ECU reflash will probably be around 150/160, and depending on which turbo I install on the red one, anywhere between 200-300 BHP. The physical size of the turbo is the biggest headache, if I use the T3 turbo it will have to be side mounted on the head, which will be a leg burner, so I’m thinking of using my spare Subaru turbo and hiding it under the bike where the big cat box used to live. Won’t be super powerful, but easier to live with, and a better quality unit.

...seems that everbody has a spare turbo in these days  My spare turbo has T25.
You can go from T3 to T25 or whatever You Subaru turbo has I am sure You will get an adapter to wherever You neet to mount it.

Put the 550/500 back on the lift and pulled the swingarm to move the battery box over. Over the weekend I built another box Incase I destroy this one cutting it off.

Was able to get the rec/reg and fuse block out without unwiring my pre labeled harness I made.

Hopefully everything is ok man.

I cut off the old box. Didn't quite destroy it but did a number on the swingarm. Little damage to the box. I had lost the lid to it so I think I'll just use the new one regardless.

Filled in the cut marks on the swingarm with Sil-bronz. The metal was so thing in alot of sports could t do anything but burn through and back full.

In the next day or so I'll grind and smooth it back out.

My new Yamiya HM300 replica exhaust arrived yesterday, woohoo! I also found my set of K0 rear footpegs, but of course I don’t have the special stepped bolts to mount the mufflers to the frame, they have a 12mm nut according to my K0 parts manual but I don’t know the overall length, or width before they’re stepped down? Does anyone have one they can measure for me so I can make some?

 I put a magnetic drain plug in the Hot Rod bike yesterday, today it was leaking. I had wussed out while squeezing the crush washer the first time and stopped tightening too soon.
 When it's cold out I plan to pull the oil pan and measure the primary chain slack.

The original CR race carbs were rare then, and ridiculously expensive now. I’ve seen them go for over $2K USD. Great period piece for period race bikes, but from memory, no idle circuit?

G’day Steve, the HM300’s will go on my K0. I love the Delkevic 4 into 1 that’s on it now and I’m not expecting any performance gains from the heavy 4 pipes, but the “Rivet Counters” like them, and I need the Delkevic for my hotrod K1 project.

Well tonight was another great bike night here in southern NH for mid October and I rode my K5. It was 65 for a high today so not too bad to and it didn't rain. We had @ 50 bikes tonight, down from the summer counts of 150-180+ so the fair weather riders stayed home because of the 20% chance of showers. I guess they forget that there was an 80% chance of no showers...... a great bunch of peeps had fun 😀.
And a few gools were hanging out too.

My friend Larry brings a different bike each week.  Last night he brought the Shovel Digger with 70s original Perowidz paint job, he had it at a local shop around the corner being worked on, he and the shop owner said it was a handful as that front end flops over too easy with the slightest turn of the bars.
He also brought one of his Indians too.
