Already done the headlight and indicators, they live in an XR style mini fairing. It does need full wiring, simplified by no electric start but a few different things like no key, just a remote battery iso and modern rec/reg and fuse box.
I'm going to make a spacer to eliminate the Speedo drive, it'll have a GPS Speedo. The carbs have been a problem after the bike fell off the bikelift and used them to cushion the fall....built a new set courtesy of Terry's spare parts service but the rebuild kits I bought came with jets and stuff that don't fit
Oh yeah, then there's the full paint job including the frame, do I do the frame black, red, white or silver ? The bodywork will be Honda red with white race number plates on the fairing and side covers.
Also I have alloy body Koni's to replace the shagged S&W's

Stu….. You’re probably right! Bike is done, fill the tank, lube the chain and go for a “road test” in the morning. It looks pretty good!

Got this bike several years ago and have done little except to ride it occasionally.  It has not run well.  Not like I remember these bikes running. 

Last year after reporting a low compression number on #4 HondaMan said he'd seen this before and suggested I ride the p!$$ out of it.  He thought #4 would behave and that's what happened.  So....inspired by this improvement I rebuilt the brakes front and rear and took a wheel in to see if they could true it better.  Changed plugs, installed a new air cleaner.  Today I made some adjustments to idle screws and fast idle.  I'm pretty excited.  This thing is starting to run as it should.  One kick of the kick starter, even cold, and it purrs.  One day soon I will re-synch the carbs and likely dial them in just a tad better.  Looking into brake improvements.

This is becoming a nice bike.  Not cosmetically, but it's near stock and runs as it should.  Fun to ride now.  Very excited.

It gives me pleasure to see other's shop walls filled with stuff like tools, I don't feel so bad then, mine is too.
That bike will sure handle differently!

My thoughts too, that wheel will contact the fender quickly and often.

Got rid of the Speedo drive ( GPS Speedo works off magik death rays from the sky
Fitted the alloy bodied Koni's which without the raising blocks will enable me to actually reach the ground
Made a new and much nicer bracket for the rear of the seat

I know right, got the shorty shocks on, may go back to the factory ones. See if that makes a different.

Yea, I'm thinking of removing that made up fender, and shorty shocks and go with the factory equipment....!!!!

Today I took the day to figure out why my wiring of the headlight was messed up, it blew the fuse last fall when switched to high beam. Didn't blow as long as I left it on low beam.
So I unhooked all the wires in the bucket because I saw there were 2 brown/red wires instead of the single shown in all the diagrams for the K5 and decided I needed to do some tracing of the wires. Those 2 wires ohmed to the fuse panel connector. It ended up I had the little jumper wire hooked up to the taillight single brown which is supposed to be unused.(the other day I happened to turn on the park mode and the headlight came on too....hmmm). So I tested power on the brown/red single wire and the brown/white single wire to see which would give power on in the run only key position. So I jumpered the brown/red to the brown/white and Bob's your uncle, all better. While I was a tracing in wires under the left cover I noticed that the connectors were getting grungy, so they all got a scrubbing and cleaning with contact cleaner then a coating of LPS 1 to protect them. And I also installed a HondaMan blade fuse panel.
It was a grand day to stay in the AC shop as it was 90°f and muggy.
It was showering when I finished tonight @ 8:30 so it didn't get a ride test.

When I get connectors like that I wrap it in a rag and spray battery cleaner into the connector body. Wait a minute for it to foam up and wash it out with non- chlorinated brake cleaner then blow it out with the air nozzle. They come out really clean and the metal blades or bullets are nice and shiny.
Once done I apply dielectric grease into each opening on the female connector to keep it working. I can do a complete wiring harness in about an hour. It solves many electrical gremlins.
