Looks fantastic John, much better than my aftermarket seat. When I win the lottery I’m going to buy a Yamiya replica for mine, it’s doubtful I’ll ever find an original like yours. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

How firm is the red foam to compress when installing the cover ?

Bill….. it was almost impossible! The Yamiya cover has absolutely no stretch at all. It took two of us to compress the foam enough to get the cover to pull down to the stitched seam, all the way around. The cover is a perfect replica and a perfect fit. Once in place it looks great. On the website Yamiya mentions this and suggest “professional installation” is required. Fortunately my friend is just that and had all the correct tools for the job. Even the strap is exactly the correct length. No trimming or waste, we had to use the entire length for a perfect fit. Not a job for the inexperienced.

Terry….. it was a bonus day. The ignition switch from Steven V. arrived as well. I have not tested yet, but it looks absolutely perfect! Thanks for the help on that detail!

Yesterday I rode the K5 into town to get a couple things at the hardware store, then a stop at the grocery store for some oatmeal. On the way home I had to downshift for a couple of turkeys that decided they wanted to cross the road, the 1.5 year old 4into1.com, less than 2,000 miles short clutch cable popped out of the lead feral at the lever, no clutch.....OK speed shifting comes in handy to get home. I had a NOS stock clutch cable that with so rerouting works with the Euro bars until the replacement (not from 4into1.com!)

Spotty and I had a good day tinkering on my K0 yesterday. I was hoping we'd get it finished, but of course everything takes longer than you hope. We replaced the sump pan with the stripped threads with another one I found in my garage, replaced the aftermarket crappy Chinese rear shocks with genuine Honda "Black tops" that are either K0 or K1, but look more authentic.

We dropped the needles a notch on the carbs as I raised them when I first bought the carbs from a well known "Expert" who didn't install the gaskets under the carb tops before I realised that he'd fcuked up and that was why it was running lean, and installed new ones, but didn't drop the needles, thinking that a slightly richer condition wouldn't hurt with the free-er flowing K&N filter and Delkevic 4 into 1, but it did run a bit rich regardless.

We reinstalled the oil tank, chain and chain guard, carbs and airbox, brake, gear and kick starter pedals, clutch cable and cover, and filled it with fresh oil, and by that we'd had enough, so next time I go over we'll install the coils, the new Yamiya pipes, fill the tank with fresh fuel, and call it good. Hopefully it'll run as well as it did with the Delkevic pipe, and as it's the first day of Spring today, the weather should be getting nicer for some rides leading up to Christmas. ;D

Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to riding it again soon. Still can't work out why it started running on 2 cylinders last year, when we brought it over to Spotty's place it started on the 3rd kick and ran on all four. I guess we'll see how it runs when it's back together again. Georg, the VIN is 102XXX (because I can't remember off hand the rest of it) but an expert here in Oz told me that it's a 1/70 build. ;D

Yesterday, I went through the carbs on my K3 then tried to balance them. The gauges were at 10 for all 4 then #4 had a slight stumble and the reading dropped for a bit then came back to 10. Must be time for new manifolds. It has good throttle response. Road test today.
