1976 K6 Anteres Red rebuilding project, was originally my brother's that I set up from the crate, it'll breath again soon!

2008 GL1800 my daily ride and cross country runner

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

...please show me a picture, made with an digi cam that can catch the candybluegree color spectrum.

Here You can see 2 paint jobs that I did by myself, the candybluegreen K0 is the only picture that is looking not simple blue but still fare fare away from the original color spectrum.

I find that most phone cameras don't portray candy blue green properly, most of the green part isn't there.

I agree, the blue/green is difficult to see online.

 I'm swapping to Drag Specialties marker lights on my old Rat Race bike. Stockers look odd on this one and I feel the need to run turn signals, so I re-cycled some old parts and added a pair of new lights.

My 6" over swingarm turned up from Canadia so I've taken advantage of the hottest day so far this spring ( 37C or close too 100F in measurements of the dead ) to fit it. Got all the old stuff out , having cleaned and greased everything when I first put it together made this the easy bit.....
New one went into the frame pivot point easily enough but when I tried to get the wheel back in, no go.
FCUK
The open end of the swingarm is only 240mm whereas the K7 one I took out is about 265mm.
I'm hoping I can machine both outer spacers to get it in but I'm going to have to be careful getting the chain to line up.
Did K7's have a different spacer set up or something to allow the 630 chain to line up differently ?
I've got some spare spacers to mess around with or I might go get an aluminium rod off appropriate size and make some new ones but I might wait for the all knowing Terry to have a look before I start cutting stuff up
Also spent nearly two hours driving round looking for an open bearing shop as I thought while I have the wheel out I may as well put new double seal bearings in. Apparently no one sells bearings on a Saturday.
Looks like it might be time for some day drinking

Just checked a K2 swingarm and that is also 240mm so it would seem the K7 wheel is a bit special needs.
I'm sure it can be made to fit , maybe I'll try  and find the spacers from the K2 swingarm and wheel and see if I can get it all to go together

Unless anyone knows better ?
The K7 axle is also 20mm longer than the K2 ones

spotty,I looked-up both the K2 and K7 rear wheels and the 'good' is they both have the same pt.# inner spacer in the hub between the bearings.  :)

For the record, 630 chain is the same width as 530 chain, 3/8". The pitch is different: 6/8" vs 5/8". On the K7/K8 F2/F3 engines, the sprockets are about 10mm further out than the earlier engines, with the sprocket carrier on the wheel to match. If you have a K7 engine, you will need the K7 carrier to keep the chain in alignment.

Well it's back together, the chain lines up, still using the K7 carrier, the chain side spacer from a K2 and a new alloy spacer on the brake side which will be redone later when I can get the right thickness alloy bar and a 20mm drill
The main problem now is the wheel is still too close to the guard so that means even longer shocks or weld on new shock mounts further up the swingarm, which would also enable me to use shocks with normal eyes on the bottom

it was indeed a good day for day drinking, went to the dog park with my labradane Clare and to my immense delight the tennis club next door finally have their bar open with a gate that opens onto the dog park. very civilised

i can see some very relaxed summer evenings ahead

 It was in the 50's F here, so I rode the gas out of the Louisville Bike and the Rat Race. Both are 72's except the Rat Race is really a K1. I'm getting good at how far they go with the petcock turned off.

I took it as he would drill in to the aluminum and epoxy the magnet into the cap to hold the aluminum to the steel ring of the cap.

yeah like that newday the thin metal cap formed onto the dipstick tightly unlike these caps im working on. I would have to find something to keep it attached to the dipstick so throwing some ideas out there maybe a bolt that the cap would screw on would be nice.
