Terry's 1st hitchhiker of the day...

Then this one's truck broke down...

This one refused to wear a helmet so she wouldn't mess up her do...

This one missed the bus after school so Terry was nice enough to give her a lift...

This one is self explanatory... you know how Terry likes a woman wearing a thong.

Man, I can't believe how the misery of an American winter can turn you guys so sour, but regardless of the "no pics, no proof" theory and of course, Mickey X's, er, "interesting" family photo's, it certainly happened, and I'm guessing that it's all down to me getting better looking as I get older, because when I rode my beautiful CB750K0 up to Puckapunyal for this same activity last year, none of the babes were particularly interested?

All that's changed since then was me buying the new Triumph Rocket III, but surely chicks dig historic Japanese superbikes much more than just massively powerful 2300cc modern British Super Cruisers? Nah, it must just be my rakish good looks.................. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think they like to know there is "Power" between the legs not looks.   ;)  Or maybe that's just here in Canada.

Hmm well currently painting the tail section on PITA ROJA. Bolted on the battery tray. Prepped and painted some more misc. Nuts bolts and washers. Got the kickstand installed. Threw the seat and tank on for a quick picture and now I think I'm done for the night! :)
guess who?

Took the chain off my F1 last thurs as it was covered in chain wax & road grime & i have been riding in some wet weather lately, cleaned it up in a bowl of turps & left it to soak in some engine oil for a day or 2, then hung it over my vice and let it drip overnight

Rode the F1 on sunday for about 125 miles mixture of rain & sun over here, had some carb issues all day missing etc blowing down the the carb overflow tubes made some difference (thought i might have got some water/dirt in carbs ) so stripped those down and gave them a good clean

Got the carbs back on yesterday didn't find anything major in the carbs (dirt or water)  :-\, started her up and she was still a little not right decided to clean the plugs thats when disaster struck  :'(, ive been having trouble with number 2 plug threads for a while now being awkward to get a plug started on the thread well yesterday it stripped the thread  :'(, it will screw in but won't tighten, bike still runs on 4 pots took it for a blast round the block & it pulls ok just a bit of popping at tick over, i'll strip it down after christmas and get it helicoiled, last time i was in this engine was @ 30,000 miles to put a new cam chain in about 14/15 yrs ago LOL, managed to get a photo of the plug hole using an old mirror you can see 2 ridges the first is the top of the plug hole & the second were the threads have stripped, ;) cheers Mick.

So the threads are toast? No chance of cleaning up the threads? I just had a thought... Could be wrong(and it would be way wrong), but if you put some(alot) grease on a thread tap, it may keep metal shavings out of the cylinder from tapping threads. That may help... or not.

they only match one way. it just happens to be level... not angled with the motor. oh well it was still cheaper than stock replacements...

i rode my 73 500 down to the bolt shop and stocked up on 6mm stainless allen key head bolts of varying lengths with nuts and flat washers, then i pulled down a 550 motor i bought along with 3 others ,ill use most of these during the assembly after getting all the phillips out with not too much drama!(or are they jis?),i ran this engine last weekend and plan to use the bottom end on the 500(clunky jumpy gears)now im drinking beer!

For the points cover at least, if you're clever, you could come up with an adapter ring that let you put the fins at whatever angle you want.  You're sorta stuck with the alternator side though.

So far, cleaned up the swing arm bolt I got from eBay. Was pleased to see it's not bent like my original but is slightly more worn.
However, I've got yet another one from ebay that should arrive later today so I'm going to see which looks best before installing.

After that I started cleaning the spare 6K-mile K4 engine I got a while back in preparation for painting.
What a PITA!  The bottom is covered with tar bits & oil the consistency of old chewing gum.  I wore out my brass brush and ran out of engine degreaser.
So it's off to Home Depot & Pep Boys for more brushes, carb cleaner, and degreaser.
It's ~40° F and drizzling. No heat in the shop and motivation is fading as the coffee wears off.....

Try using turpentine mate, it's the best engine cleaner I've used, so far. (don't use it on a freshly painted engine though, or you'll be sorry........) ;D
