Hey Terry !!    She said she wants to go on a ride about in the outback !!    ;D

Sorry mate, I can't see the pic, hosted pics (like photobucket ) aren't allowed past the defence department firewall. Can you save it into JPG format and post it again? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Try using turpentine mate, it's the best engine cleaner I've used, so far. (don't use it on a freshly painted engine though, or you'll be sorry........) ;D

Good idea.  I was using the carb cleaner and it was working pretty well, it's mostly acetone, but I ran out.
The original paint is actually not too bad since it's such low mileage but there's the crap on the front & bottom and typical staining around the valve cover, plugs, & carbs.
I knew it would time consuming but I want to clean & paint this engine without tearing it down. (Aside from some new cover gaskets.)

Went out to the carport to turn Samson around so I could put him on the center stand.  Choke was froze open, so no start.  After 5 minutes of cursing and swearing I got the choke to work.  Starter barely cranked the engine over but still started.  Tried a burnout in the snow but just too slippery.  Backed him into the carport, put him on the center stand and covered him with his blankie.

Slid the forks up in the trees a 1/2 inch. Took a short test ride in 36 deg. temps, should have done it a while back, (Put lower shocks on it back in the spring.) really helped balance out the suspension. :) I'll try lowering the front some more, after I put the (new to me) fork boots on. Expecting sleet tomorrow, so not likely to see decent riding weather for a while. :'(

heh, heh, heh. BTW, MickeyX is a chic dear sir.  ;D ;D A chic that has no overtime at work for once, just when it got too nasty cold outside to work on the bike, hence time to pick on people here. No sisters but I do have 4 really big older brothers. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't look good in bikinis either.  :D

I ordered more parts for the '69 CL350 for xmas. Then I walked out to the garage, past all 4 bikes and grabbed more firewood. That's what I did today.

Yesterday; Sandblasted all the footpegs, sprayed a coat of primer on all the metal parts and 4 hrs later put the 1st coat of black. Meanwhile put the genrator cover back on, took it off, put it back on, don't ask. Tried to put the exhaust port flanges on, took them off, tapped all the threads to clean the shyte and paint off them, Put all of them on again. Rummaged around the shed for 35 mins looking where the feck did I put that new oil filter. Found it, assembled the lot then halfway had to extract the screw, tap the thread, clean the crap out, refit it. Then I checked the book, oh bollox forgot the spring that goes behind the filter cartridge. Take it off, fit spring, then it was just as I was about to re-re-fit it I realised there was a brand new small 'o' ring in the box the filter came with. Prise out the old one, replace with new one. All in all 5 hrs of pure joy. Learnt a very important lesson here: DON'T SIT AROUND SCRATCHING YER ARSE WHILST WAITING FOR THOSE ENGINE PARTS TO ARRIVE, CLEAN OUT ALL THOSE SCREW/BOLT THREADS. >:( >:(
Today: walked the dog.

Thanks.  Purchased for 150.00.  Recycled and repainted as many parts as possible.  Got a little creative with the engine painting.  Now the long wait till spring.

I harvested the center stand, chain guard and swing arm from an old K0 frame I dug out of the mud. One fork leg stuck there! Now I'm trying to remove some junk parts from it to make it smaller to store. Not too bad though for being outdoors.

Did some more painting on the frame and other bits. Frame is all done, still lots to go. I love the black I painted it, but after seeing bucky katt's frame, I wish I had gone with something a little less ordinary!!!

Bought a battery tender and hooked it up.  Also stared at it and made engine noises in my head.

Did my first oil change on my 750 and also installed new plugs. Touched up a few places on frame and polished on engine covers. Sure wanted to take her down the road but it rained all day Thought about adjusting cam chain but never got around to it.

After I dragged the old girl out of the snow bank (I put it out side for a bit to clean up the garage and didn't know snow was coming >:() I replaced the tach cable and put on the new powder coated brake parts.  I still have to bleed the brake but at least it's not outside. ;D

took it for another illegal ride (no registration or insurance) i just rode it at low speeds around the neighborhood. i'm still amazed at how nice and crisp the throttle response is with no surging at a low, steady speed like it was when i had pods on it. today at least, i love my bike.
