I like the touches on the tank cap but would that leak if for some reason the bike was on it's side? I know I've been known to miss the kickstand on occasion.  ::) :-X

I opened the shed and looked at her.
Pulled the cover up to look at the wear bars on the rear tire and reminded myself that I need to replace that.
Covered her up again and closed the shed.
Another 10cm of snow expected tonight.
It will be another month or two before there is even a chance of riding her again (sigh).

Lets see

I went for a ride in the neighborhood (First time in about 4 years) just to check stuff out

1 steering stem needs to be a little looser (feels like I have a steering dampener)

2 foot controls need adjusting

3 re-cut the fuel lines in order to fit the pod filters

4 tiding up the wiring on the left side in order give it a clean look when the cover is on.

Mounted the CR replica seat.

It sure felt good to get the ol girl out again

I was bored so I went out to the garage ans started up the k6 just to listen to it and smell that wonderful exhaust. Took a little creativity with the completely dead battery, but she eventually started and I ran her for a good 5 minutes. Spring can't come soon enough.

Nothing, but my brother and I went to the motorcycle museum in Iowa. Only 2 750's, a K0 labeled as a K1 and there was a 750 chopper too. a lot of really old stuff. Elmer Trett's fuel bike, a twin 650 twins yammy bonneville Vesco bike. A twin water buffalo drag bike run dry. Lots of really old stuff, Indians, several vincents, many I never heard of before. A blacksmith shop with old bikes, hill climb section, flat track road race,  well worth the 7 bucks to get in. Next June they are moving into an old Wall Mart building.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Mounted the stubby Carpy front fender on the original mount and hung it, chipped the clear coat drilling one hole. Lesson #3472, drill all holes before painting (duh). Mounted the stubs for the bar end mirrors, I wanted to hang them upside down pointing in but the drag bras are too short and the gas tank is in the way. All the brake work is done, now lets hope they don't leak again. Going to Steels this weekend to rummage around for a petcock and then she flies.

Nothing but I got a box full of OEM parts from BikeBandit - front cushion rubbers for the forks, bulbs, washers, spacers, dust seals etc...time to put the front end back together. And my swingarm is coming back today from Hondaman if FedEx can find my house this time!

Weekend is looking good...

Since I got the K4 caliper cleaned and back on it was time to do the K1. It was sluggish when I pushed it home a year ago. Gosh, compared to the K4 this K1 had a bunch of sludge in it as you can see below. Got it cleaned out, new seal installed and system bled. Smooth as silk. Now I get to do the same thing on the KO. I wonder what that will look like...I will let you know.

Yup, the KO was a bit worse as far as crap in the caliper. Cleaned, rebuilt, new seal, bled...good as gold. Smooth piston now. I have to get up the nerve to do my first master cylinder rebuild sometime. Do you guys rebuild the master on the bike or do you take it off the bars?
