I roughed in some brackets for the gauges and bent the OEM bracket to work with em.

I tried to make the gauges flow with the upper tree height.

it's just a rough mock up.

Cool bike.
How bad are the forks ? May be easier to straighten them..

G'Day Frank, thanks for that mate, sadly one leg is "kinked" so it's trash, and the other one is slightly bent, but in two planes, so I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy some good straight ones. I've only found one set so far today, he wants 450 bucks, ouch! Oh well, I can't ride with no front forks, so it looks like it's time to bend over again............. :P
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

i tried to find a good solid, safe place to mount my hondaman ignition box.

I bit the bullet and lashed out on some NGK Iridium plugs. And they work. The bike starts crisp and clean and seems to have bit more power. Worth trying if
you've ever considered them. ^^

I use them in my cb650.  The most obvious change was that the bike seemed more willing to start even when it had a really low battery charge, back when the charging system was down.

Agree, Kit. The ancient ignition system seems to like the 2010 technology of Iridium. Every bit helps! ^^

I:

Dumped the sealed beam headlight in favor of a Hella H4.  EU spec of course; the DOT can suckit.

I also picked up a Sigma bike computer from REI so I could have a speedo again.

Magnetic pickup mounted to bracket that I whipped up real quick:

Display mounted to top tree:

The wires are a bit unsightly, but the wireless version was just getting way too much RF interference from the ignition system.  Oh well; it's better than what I had before, which was nothing.

the difference between DOT and Euro lights is that in Europe, they're on the left side of the road, and so the headlight beam is patterned accordingly.  Hopefully that'll still be ok for your application.

Got the fairing and cluster back together.  Spent time cleaning, polishing and waxing the frame and stuff.  Still waiting for ordered parts to arrive.

Well, that's not the only difference.  You certainly wouldn't want to run a headlight designed for left-side travel on the right-side (or vice-versa), but this headlight will work just fine.

BTW, the only countries in Europe that travel on the left-side of the road are Ireland and the UK.

Cyprus is generally included as part of Asia, but even the people that live there fight over where they are. Turks/Greeks who knows.

Guernsey, Jersey & the Isle of Man are often considered part of the British Crown, but I guess they could be separate countries ruled by the same lords...a distinction I did not consider.   Sorry

Mauritius is off the east** coast of Africa...

Guess I have to give you Malta, Sorry

Ordered new jets for it from Z1.  I ordered some 110s and 115s to see which match up with my pods better.  Also got some new fork oil seals to replace my leaking set.  I'm hoping to do all this before the weekend so I can get out and ride on Saturday.

Finished removing the old windjammer from the bike, installed the newly acquired headlight rim and turn signals.  Reinstalled the Carbs airbox and battery tray after rebuilding the carbs.  Got pretty much everything back together except the tank.  Hopefully do that one night this week and get her up and running!!!

I removed the exhaust, oil filter housing, and the oil pan. I had a little junk in the pan but not much. I would like to remove the oil pump screen and clean it. What is the best way to get the screen off of the pump? Thanks for any suggestions. The bike is a 1978 750f.
