i couldnt resist the absolutely beautiful weather tonight so i went out for a nice ride. i did the "circuit" out percival road to screaming eagle road then down 601 to leesburg rd and back to forest acres on I77 and home. nice little 45 mile run.

Straightened out my headlight bucket a bit, adjusted the front brake lever.

Took it for a ride.
Felt a bit of a slip a couple times on some corners. When I got home I reefed a bit on the rear wheel. Seems I have some play now in the swing arm.  :P

My Island circuit ;D Dam, I really need to get out of here more often.

Fitted Hondaman's ignition the other day, used my new Kobalt tire inflator to top of the tires, tried to mount new turn signals and promptly broke one (POS), dunked some coked up carbs in vinegar.  We'll see how they come out.

It looks huge!

is there possibly any pics of it with a scantily clad young lady sitting on it backwards?

if not, can you make that happen?  ;)

Thanks for all the great compliments, as for the semi naked model, the best I could do is my 20 year old daughter ......  but that would be sooooooo wrong!

adjusted clutch cable, they seem to stretch a touch when theyre brand new. i put polished stainless bolts onto the brake pedal and the kickstart lever, now i'm getting ready to yank the viper fairing off of it too. beautiful day here too, it's 70 degrees, 19% humidity and not  a cloud in the sky. this time of year is the nicest it gets here.

Today I finally got the 750 looking more presentable. 3 hours of degreasing and polishing and she looks like this:

She still isn't perfect, but it looks good from a distance. Then I put in 10 miles running around town. Aside from maybe a lose cam chain, she runs great! Too bad I will be selling her soon :(

Being clean can make a decent bike look awesome.  In my mind, it also says a lot about that person and their attention to detail.

i yanked the rear fender and viper fairing. the fender will get bobbed and put back on though. getting caught in the rain wiht no rear fender is really no damned fun at all  >:(  definitely looks better without the fairing. anyone want to buy a barely used viper fairing?  ;D

K4 - finished up some loose ends and with temps unseasonably in the 70's here in WI it was time for my son and I to move the bike out of the patio workshop. The PO had the incorrect short blinker studs in place. It was a bit tight with the correct longer ones, but we got it out. I only had to take off the front brake lever to be able to twist it through that narrow door. My son did most of the tire sliding to clean all sides. Now I can fire it up and do some riding this weekend. Supposed to stay in the 70's which is way warm for WI in the beginning of April.

Hey Johnie,
Bike is looking really great. It is really a pleasure to see someone take a bike back to that condition. Ride it and enjoy it. Only problem you will have is the all the time you will have to listen to everyone tell you how great it looks and hoe they used to have one just like it.... ;D ;D ;D

My carb sync was off a little, so I tried to fix it and screwed up my bike so bad it barely runs.

75F, 750 Put in the new honda jets, still runs crappy. Runs best without the air filter. ready to take it to my favorite shop and let him fix, and or sell it, there is a guy who may pay what I want and I need a new body for the race car. Still got my K0 I just won't be able to take it apart till winter if i sell the F.

Pulled off the headlight and gauges so I could try out my new switch box for my kill switch and Cycle X coil switches, didn't work at all, back to the drawing board. Also figured out my throttle creep problem when it's warm, 30 year old return spring is loosing it's spring when it gets warm, that thing is no fun to get to.

Last night I hooked up my new harness, re-installed the gauges, horn and headlight bucket and ran out of time to position the coils around the harness. Making progress on the K4.

Any good tips for getting rid of rust on exhaust collars (early type)? I tried the Coke method, vinegar and now have them sitting in nitric acid...no dramatic changes so far. Anyone got a better rust-removal method? Will be painting them this weekend....

thanks
Andy

Citric acid or orange juice..works good on painted tins to remove rust. Not sure about the chtrome but should not hurt it..
