Replaced all the screws behind the point cover with hex heads on the 750A, tried to be like Kit and ride to school in the rain, but the rain quit.  Got drizzled on tho...

Citric acid or orange juice..works good on painted tins to remove rust. Not sure about the chtrome but should not hurt it..

I found powdered citric acid at an Indian grocery a couple years ago...only used it for cooking, but it might come in handy in other areas...

I fixed a "lock to lock" issue. by scooting the tank back and filing the bump-stop.

I ordered the adjustable cam sprocket and a set of ngk iridiums for the k4 750, i'm heading outside right now to do some waxing and polishing on fuzzycycle.

Edit : i wrote "project fuzzycycle" in paint pen in an unseen spot on the bike, i know it's there and thats all i care about

Sealed some airleaks in the carb venturies.  Synced carbs a couple times.  Still not quite right.

Replaced 16 diaphragms screws (JIS) I had cut slits into cause I stripped the heads.  Bought these bolts a couple years ago to replace.  Each time I was ready to change them could not find them.  Found them today in the "Safe Place" I loose chit in.  Then not 5 minutes after finding them I lost em again.  The mind is going.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I wanted to ride between my two different college campuses because I need text books... but today the weather decided to taunt and tease me with beautiful blue sunny skies, then hellacious blowing rain and hail... then beautiful blue sunny skies again.  Stupid weather.
Checked out D&S cycle to mount and balance my 350's tires, because I neither have a balancer, nor the desire and/or chutzpah needed to break the beads on 38 year old tires.  They quoted me $30 each.  That's pretty rad.  Now I'm just weighing how much it's worth to me to have them take the wheels off/put them on/adjust the chain/fiddle with the breaks/etc etc because while I can do it, it's a pita and I can guarantee it'd take them half the time...

...and maybe while they're doing that X and I can take in a movie or somethin'. :) It's our weekend. :D :)

Last night I hooked up my new harness, re-installed the gauges, horn and headlight bucket and ran out of time to position the coils around the harness. Making progress on the K4.

Any good tips for getting rid of rust on exhaust collars (early type)? I tried the Coke method, vinegar and now have them sitting in nitric acid...no dramatic changes so far. Anyone got a better rust-removal method? Will be painting them this weekend....

thanks
Andy
soak them in mollasses, about a week or two, wont hurt chrome or paint,it chealetes the steel, the smell makes you want to open a beer.,ive done heaps of stuff with it,,mix it about 50/50 with boiling water ,shake it every few days,,bare metal comes out,,scape or knock off any heavy rust first.

I took the 350 out on this windy day so I could snag a photo tag for the adventure rider site.

Yesterday, we dropped Kit's CL350 off to get the tires mounted, new tubes, rim strips, balance, rear wheel greased (we did the front when we rebuilt the brakes) and everything put back and set the brakes again.

They also set the valves, points and checked the carbs for us. The owner had this exact model and year in high school as his 1st road bike. He loved working on it. His boys tried to set the points and stuff but got nowhere. He, on the other hand, had it all purrrrring in about 10 min.  ;D

$130 out the door and we saw Alice in Wonderland while it was all happening. Kit is liking the Avon Roadriders.  8)

Took a few photos of my bike this morning(0 deg. F. !!)
And started her up 'till she was warm, and did doughnuts in the snow in my driveway.

Should have put the bike in last night......
Ya think?
