defende their honor.  My foster son came home for Christmas and saw the 650 for the first time.  He suggested now I could sell the two bikes and buy something nice like a Harley.  Makes me want to go back and leave his a** on the street.  Then he said he sure would like to learn to ride.

And not the crappy points either,  I don't know what brand these are, but they look a heck of a lot better then the Diachi crap I had on there.

maybe when you teach him to ride and a little about the bikes he to can appreciate the difference between a vintage motorcycle that was a head of it's time and over priced antique technology with modern marketing

Why shucks, I'm blushing boys! But thanks very much for the kind comments, and don't forget that it's been nominated for January's "Bike of the Month". Anyway, enough shameless self-promotion, today the weather was superb, warm and sunny, and after the last couple of wet days I was bored shiiteless, so as soon as I could get my helmet and jacket on, I was off for a ride.

The blue K2 went faultlessly, being as it's Christmas and the cops are conducting traffic blitzes (or at least, they say they are.......) I took it easy and only got up to around 70 MPH, but it was wonderful, I really didn't want to come home. Then I got hungry and remembered the massive Christmas cake the wife cooked yesterday, so I reluctantly turned around and came home. Damn my uncontrollable fruit cake addiction!

Got the next tank in the mail - test fitted it - This is the one!!!!!!!!

Got the chrome strips off the tank without doing any damage to them, got the Honda emblems off (held with screws) without damage as well.  Put front end back on the bike, put clip-ons on for the first time, checked tank clearnace.  Found right and left hand controls, fit right side to clip-ons.  Checked wiring to make sure switches were OK.  Pulled petcock off tank and disassembled, went looking for rebuild parts on E-Bay.  Contacted member from here about a set of custom replacement caliper pistons, and bought a set of original equipment decals to place on the bike after confirming that they were of a sort that immune to clear coat.  Oh, and took the rotors to the machine shop and got them turned.

Also went christmas shopping and got the old lady taken care of.

Did you use Industrial Rattle Can?

As a matter of fact I did.  Industrial Rustoleum Primer and Industrial Rustoleum Gloss Black in my on the spot paint boxes.  Used a screwdriver to turn them in the box.  They were connected by safety wire.  It was getting cold last night.
