Degreasers available in UK?
« on: December 22, 2005, 07:42:12 AM »
While sitting here in my workshop (aka my Study), and attempting to prise 30 years' worth of accumulated crud off my 400F's engine parts with a blunt instument, I began wondering if there's any degreaser other than good 'ol Gunk or Jizer that's efficient, doesn't cost a re-mortgage, and is readily available here in UK.

Any SOHC4 afficianados in UK inform me of such a legendary product?

My local bike shop swears by the Fuchs de greaser, I think it is calle Fuchs Off; and no this isn't a joke.  but I have tried a couple and I think they are all roughly the same. Try the cheapest one first!!

My mate puts  parts in the dishwasher and it works a treat  ;)

From this I deduce that he's a confimed Bachelor - or a recent Divorcee??

Is that why they "retired" all the old doubles. :D
The greasers couldn't get on.

Thanks to all who gave info - all I need to do now is convince the wife that I need to put my oily, filthy, 30 year old engine parts in the Dishwasher, with a couple of litres of paraffin (kerosene) - on the "Eco" cycle of course.  And she'll agree that I should do it.

<looks suddenly skyward>

Oooohhh!  Look!  there goes another couple of pigs!!

 ;D

Really - thanks fellas - and Season's best to all SOHC4 riders, wherever you are at this time.
