cb900f ( first generation ) gas tank on cb750f
« on: November 09, 2009, 07:23:14 AM »
Anybody know if that is doable, mainly concerned about the front tank mounts & width of tunnel.  I realize the back of the tank would have to mount differently & the seat might have to be modified. 900 tank looks very similar except for the back mount point

Looking at the 900 tank to use on a cafe type project. Anybody done this.

I actually like the look myself and may try it when my project is underway. The 750f and 900f tank appear to be the same.

Edosm did it on his bike.

Yes that looks like a second generation tank.  The pictures I've seen of the first generation tank just have a mount at the rear and don't have the mount points on the side, nor does the tank turn down at the rear.  It stays fairly flat throught its length.
