As an aside I found the only thing that helped when I was chilled to the bone was staggering in to a hot, Hot shower and boiling until the cold went away.

i rode in college in denver about 3 years ago on my 01 spirit 750 and it was like -15F or so.  but it was a dream night for a ride, nobody on the roads, no sand from recent snow storms, just everything you could want for a winter ride in CO.  i had all my ski clothes on, and a nice THICK indiana jones style jacket.  had my under armor head wrap under the full face with the hoodie's hood on it.  winter socks and my winder red wing boots.  it was a nice ride, about 30 miles one way, lots of highway, i had a blast!!!

I've ridden in a little colder, but 27 seems to be my magic number.  I have purchased 3 motorcycles and ridden them home at that temperature.  You can usually get a good deal when it's cold or wet.

I have been riding my two wheeled couch, 1980 Goldwing GL1100, so far at temps of -5 C.  As long as the road is ice free I plan on riding as much as I can this winter. Surely is just too cool to ride no mater how well dressed for the temps.  Longest long ride was last week, just over an hour at 4C at around 120 to 130km/h.  It was for a job interview so I also had a suit on under all the gear.

Don't really know if it was the coldest.  Rode from Texas to Daytona bike week in 1980.  The night we crossed into Fla. it was 18 F.  Sleeping bags frozen stiff (had gotten wet in rain earlier),  frost on helments, camping out. Would not do it now, but made for a lot of stories.

COLD!

Coldest I ever remember being on a bike was a long time ago, when I first started riding... was on my way to a midnight showing of Rocky Horror on Halloween.  Wasn't wearing a helmet or proper gear for about 10 miles in 15F degrees... Not sure I've recovered yet.   :D

Then there was the time going over the pass at Flagstaff, AZ in the middle of the night with snow on the ground and truck drivers driving like mad men.

Even with heated grips, I'm still a fair weather rider... usually.

i'm a fair weather rider. I drove a week in 30-40F weather when the car was in the shop. It was pretty miserable. My hands and my legs froze up pretty good. I didn't like it too much.

I'm not a fan of the cold by any means. I USED to ride the 650C I had as long as there wasn't ice and salt on the roads, up until the time I slipped on frosty ground, went down and broke my collar bone (clavical L).  I always say now that I ride for the enjoyment of it, and if I'm shivering, I'm not enjoying it.

Went to brush the frost off the XS seat one night tho, and just the lightest touch ripped the perfect but frozen vinyl from front to back right down the middle. I almost cried.

That sucks!

That sucks!

That's why both of my redone seats are with -40 vinyl.

The coldest temps I ever ride in is when I tell the wife I'm going for a ride and her reply is "...OH...., go ahead and do whatever you want, I don't care"  ;D
