Might be a nice gesture to consider (in the U.S.) a small donation to an organization such as the USO or the Military Order of the Purple Heart, just a thought.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Hope you all don't mind, I'd like to start a thread that would acknowledge those who have and/or are serving. Didn't want to mess with Bill's thread. Do appreciate his gesture too! ;)

Mere words don't express the gratitude I have for those who served. My dad was a fighter pilot in the south pacific, he was my personal hero.
Thank you all for watching over us.

Yeah I found myself thinking more than usual about my grandad today. He served in WWII and spent some months as a German POW too...I can't even imagine going through that! Especially at 17/18.

Men were much tougher back then...or atleast tougher than I.

I will never forget the sacrifice made by those men.

To all that have served or are currently serving a huge Thank You!!!

Demon, I was with 1RCR from 97-04. Injuries forced me into the Admin world. I miss the brotherhood that exists within the combat arms. You have a certain bond with people after you have been shot at together. I have no complaints now though, mostly work days like any other office job and in another 8 years I can retire with a pension.

I was wondering if any of the Canadians would pick up on the "Pro Patria"

We had a beautiful sunny day, no wind, no rain, about a half dozen WW2 vets in attendance, plus around a dozen Korea vets.

I didn't get stuck on the parade square, I was in uniform but I was there with the Wolf Cubs and Scouts who were in the parade. (on the side I am a Wolf Cub leader)

Thanks for asking.

Operator same here for weather, although my Canadian soul felt a little disappointed that the weather wasn't crappy it almost always is, but it was easier on the old timers.
