Okay, I Have Come To Face Reality
« on: November 06, 2009, 06:57:15 AM »
I was on my way back home from town this morning and suddenly, I started to realize ALL OF THE PROJECTS THAT I HAVE AND HOW MUCH TIME ALONG WITH THE MONEY. IT WOULD TAKE TO DO IT ALL! Also, that it would be more like a job and I would be stressed to get as much done as I could, as soon as I could.

Fact is, there is just so much a person can do in his (or her) life time and MINE isn't getting any longer. So, that being said, as soon as I can start getting to it, I'm going to be doing a "House Cleaning" and listing in the our Classifieds, what I am getting rid of. I am giving ALL notice now.

I am planning on keeping the CBX, GPZ, 80' CB750K, 80' CB650C, ALL of the Super Hawk stuff, the CZ175, the 60's Jawa 250, my little Jawa50 and maybe the 77' CB750A. Not sure about the 400F, 450 DOHC and SL350 Stuff. Now, some of you may be wondering what that leaves. Well, here is a basic list that I will be posting in it's proper place, when the time comes:

Honda
  1.   A good part of 2 CB550Ks (77 & 78' models)  "No Titles"
  2.   A 73' CB500K (engine problem, but have 2 other engines/ one is assembled
and turns over with the other one disassembled)
  3.   Some of a 69' Z50A and some parts of a 72' Z50 as well   "No Titles"

Suzuki    "No Titles"

  1.  Misc TS400 stuff (2 frames, at least 2 engines, some wheels and odd and ends)
  2.  some of a 72' TS125, along with a fair amount of a 185 as well
  3.  An RV90 that is supposed to run, even though I have never tried to get it to.
       (has some parts missing too)

Yamaha

  1. SR500 (81', I think) Not complete, needs lots of work, as will most everything I
      have.    "No Title"
  2. Various 75' DT400B stuff, might be close enough to build a dirt bike, after
      rebuilding  "No Title"
      the engine
  3. 2 75' MX400B bikes that aren't complete, need engines rebuilt AND monoshocks
serviced, at the very least     "No Titles"
  4. a 78' DT250E that is mostly there, but engine is stuck "No Title"
  5. 2 or 3 partial DT175s Ranging from 78' - 80' models, might be able to get one
running, using parts from others, it has an engine that turns and has
      compression.   Again, "No Titles"
  6. 85' RZ350 rolling frame with gas tank and no engine or electrics "No Title"
  7. 73' RD350 I think it needs crank seals and carbs gone through to make it a daily
rider (not a perfect bike, needs a restoration for that)  "No Title" AND there is
one , maybe 2 folks who mentioned some time back, that he (or they) would like
1st shot at it. if I ever got rid of it.
  8. Also have a rolling H-D Sprint 350 rolling frame

Now, as soon as I can, I'll post pictures of what I have and we'll go from there. It'll take me some time to get all of this stuff around though. I don't think I've missed anything. Prices will be very reasonable AND some will be for shipping cost only. This stuff is NOT prime, it mostly came from a Motorcycle Salvage, so keep that in mind.

Sure, I don't have a Royal Enfield TT Interceptor (course, IF I did, I wouldn't be selling IT!) And I don't have a Norton Commando (same deal as the Enfield) and I don't have a 50's BSA Gold Star or a BSA 650 Super Rocket or a CB750K0. See, there are a few I don't have. ;D  buddy of mine, just tonight, offered to let me take a deal on a 71' SL350, that he's thinking about getting for himself. It is a decent restoration (I know of the guy who did it AND he does fine work. I had to tell him to go for it himself because I have NO idea how much I'll end up spending on the GTX AND I still have some parts to get for the Super Hawk. Besides, I don't have room for what I've got now. ::)

:D ;D   Only thing is, I am already needing one, so I can get my Garage emptied, be able to have some work space, better arrange my stuff and be able to find it, when I need to. ::) AND THEN, I also need a place to be able to put the GTX inside. My thoughts are to get myself a couple of those Double car carports, Enclose them and put a solid built wooden floor in the one for storage of parts and bikes. Besides, what if I DID manage to eventually get something going with a Lady and brought her in to mY place? Don't want to scare her off right away!  :-\
Course, I guess it all depends on the lady, huh? ??? :D

The projects!!!!!....why get rid of them?

I'm going to HAVE to do SOMETHING. Presently I have THOSE that I listed at the beginning of this AND also have:  (BTW, MOST of these ARE Non Running AND for the most part, are incomplete)

           Honda:

           1. 80' CB750K (Complete, stock except for 4 into 2 Jardine exhaust, needs
carbs lined out, needs paint job, tires and detailed out, has
                                   title)
           2. 79' CB750K (mostly a parts bike, has a complete engine and no title)
           3. 77' CB750A (Engine has compression and bike is complete, except for
headlight and mounts after I removed the Windjammer)
           4. 80' CB650C (Mostly complete, needs carbs gone through, has title)
           5. 80' CB650C (Parts bike, all body work & title missing)
           6. 74' CB450 (mostly complete, has a title and engine has compression)
           7. 74' CB450 (Pretty complete, engine stuck, no title)
           8. 70' CB450 (Fairly complete, no gas tank, side covers, seat or title/ engine
                                stuck)
           9. 69' CB450 (Missing a lot, engine stick, no title)
         10. 74' CL450 (mostly there, engine complete but disassembled, no title)
         11. 7?' CB400F (I don't remember,I think it's a 76') Mostly there, engine has
                                 compression, no title)
         12. 63' & 66' CB77 Super Hawk (Parts of almost 2 complete bikes, but
                                            missing items
that are pretty costly and that prevents me from
restoring. So will be built as Cafes or Customs. have
                                            one title)
         13. CL72 Scrambler (Mostly complete, needs some parts replaced, engine
WAS stuck and has been partially disassembled, has
                                        title)

         CZ/Jawa

         14. 7?' Jawa 350 Californian (parts bike used for the 250 that I am going to
                                                     build)
         15. 64' or 65' Jawa 250 model 590 ( not enough there for resto. and building
a near copy of one my Dad built years ago)
         16. 74' CZ175 (near complete, but in poor shape, questionable what to do
with it, try to fix it over time or use for parts to the 72' CZ)
         17. 72' CZ175 (95% complete, in good shape, damaged headlight rim & seat
cover, engine has good compression, should be an easy
                                project to get running)
         18. 5?' Jawa 50 This was my 1st bike ever! Modified by my Dad (needs top
end rebuild, tires, paint and reassembled)

Not to mention that I also have the 80' CBX, 83' GPZ1100 and now my newly
acquired 69' Plymouth GTX on the place as well. And 2 of these are outside,
but the CBX IS in the garage (barely)
I think that about covers it except for some misc wheels, forks and gas tanks
that some of which, I have no idea what they are.

Keep in mind that all of this is contained (or at least attempted to be) in a
          one car garage, a 12' x 14' building out back, a 8' x 10' building also out
back, a swingset frame (minus the swings of course) with tarps attached to it,
4 bikes in a storage unit and 4 bikes out back covered by tarps.

My goal is to get down to where, I can put one of those metal freestanding carports out back, enclose it, with doors and put in a floor. This would be for parts AND whatever bikes I could get in there comfortably. I would then work on setting my one car garage up to be able to work on bikes AND store the CBX and GPZ in there (If needed). Then, I have plans to put another one of those carports up to put the GTX in. I would LIKE to just be able to build a shop building out in the back, but the cost of the slab alone, is staggering!

Okay, NOW you all know why the delima.  ::) I would keep it all and fix it, but time AND money won't allow it.

                                        Take care, Bill ;)

Ca-chunk.

That the sound of my trailer dropping on the Ball Hitch on the truck  ;D

Well, you might know it, I've been contacted on the twins.net by a member who just happens to live right across the Arkansas River from me and is inquiring about the 450 stuff (yeah, couldn't be any of the stuff that I am most ready to see leave). So now, I have to decide what I am going to do. Had some pretty good plans for some of them. Thing is, I had not even decided how much to ask for the stuff that I'd like to get something out of, yet. Looks like I had better get off my rear and on the stick and get things in order, then put it all on the proper forum. If I don't, it could be gone before I could do that. ::) Decisions!

As it is right now, the Sprint "rolling chassis" has been spoken for, the 450 stuff is in question, the SL350K0 has been asked for (actually, my buddy who I got it from, has gotten his interest back and would like to give it a go. And, we had an understanding when I got the SL350 stuff from him too.) Just a note on that: I really wasn't into doing the K0, except for the fact that it WAS a K0! By that I mean that I am more into the newer SL350s because they were more their own bike. The K0 was more of an exercise of changing the LOOK of the CB/CL350. The later SL350s were more about Honda trying to make the SL350s competitive with the other brands and ended up dropping them in favor of the XL250 & 350.

                                         All for now, Bill ;)
