Hey CBJ
I work in St.Louis and live south of Wentzville in Winery country  , we`ll have to get together this spring for a barbecue(grow my own steaks). Got a pond full of catfish , bluegills and bass and a couple of horses to ride. Some nice riding roads out this way. I`ll be in the city on the bike on New Years Day too.

this humidity makes it seem practically balmy out, doesn't it? i won't be lucky enough to be riding, but i will be spending some quality time in the garage - i have a load of work to do and just got in new parts and products that are gonna make the new year good for the bike and me.

your place sounds real nice - i love the country - even though i live in the city for now i didn't grow up around here - i'm from the South and came up hunting and fishing and pissing off the back porch with noone around to care if i did.  ;)

i haven't been out to W'ville, but i spent all my school holidays down in the Ozarks and noticed that there are some pretty nice riding roads down there (and usually plenty of Harleys on'em!)...now that i have the 750 and can make road trips, i def. plan to go back down as soon as the weather makes it possible.

Have a Happy New Year - take off the baffles and blow into the new year PROPER!

Stephan,
did you make it into town for New Year's? - i spent the weekend working in the garage - found out the meaning of despair when i stripped the paint off of my tank and found nothing but holes.   :-\

you wouldn't happen to know where i can get a Super Sport tank, do you?

I live up in Troy, just North of Wentzville. My '78 750K is a mess right now, and I plan on making it my project this spring/summer. I used to have a 76 550k as well. Just wanted to let ya know I"m here. Thanks!

We'll have to figure out a time to get together for a ride - once I get my machine up and running.

sounds good - as you can see mine isn't so comfy right now...it won't take much, though, i hope, new seat and hook the bars and tank back together, then we just wait on the weather.

Hey, I'm not in St. Louis, but just an hour and a half away in So. IL.  We've got some beautiful roads down here in the Shawnee National Forest.  If you guys want to come down some time let me know and we'll go for a ride.

Hey CBJ;       From Blue Springs just east of KC.  Recently bought a 74 550 that had been sitting in a barn for 20 years.  Got the bike for $200 and its complete and was running when put away.  Just got the carbs back on tonight and plan to fire it up in the morning.  This is my first bike but really looking forward to getting it road ready.  Plan to ride it this summer and then do a full restore next winter.  These old Hondas sure are a sweet looking bike.      Bruce

Foley Mo. here...up in Lincoln Co.  Glad to see a local forum..my putt is a '76 CB750K that I bought new in '76 for a princely$1800. I'm retired now and got the loyal steed out of mothballs since I have plenty of times for rides...I went to Philadelphia last Oct. on her and had a wonderful time. 50000 on the clock and running great.Id like to partner with some locals for some extended trips during the summer, so any of you who have progressed beyond wage slavery, and don't mind sore butts and sleeping in campgrounds keep in touch.

I guess I'm ageing myself by saying how all the Harley riders laughed at the Honda choppers..I wonder how many of the Harley's are running yet...lol.......
Just finished detailing and tuning up my ride,  new chain n sprockets...even broke down and took off all the grease on the left side and treated it to a wax job. hope it runs OK now.

Thanks for the offer, but it aint no fun unless I do it myself...  Had some things to do today so put about 100 more miles on it. the new chain hasent loosened up much, but about the first 30 miles I went slow n easy for breakin and to be sure I
didnt mess up the master link. A little over 50000 miles and runs like a top.

Hey, new guy here.  My brother and I have gotten our hands on several CB projects and are looking for a local guru to mentor us through some basic CB workings.  We've torn down a 73 750 and 450 with the plans of getting them running by the summer.  I want to rebuild the engine on the 750 just for the experience and get her running again, plus do the typical cafe accents to make her stand out.

Hopefully I can hook up with some local CB fans to ride, kick tires and drink beers.

Located in Dirty Souf City (Hampton and Gravois).

I just bought a '78 550 4K and was looking for maybe some tips/parts/advice for basic motorcycle maintenance. I'd like to get it ready for a trip I want to take soon. Problem is, I don't know much about bikes in general, neither does anyone else I know. Either way, hello to all from the South Side.
