Anyone know where to get the fork dampening valves? i saw them on that auction site, but really don't feel like paying 85 dollars just for one pair.

If you mean cartridge fork emulators for your front forks, try:
www.mikesxs.net
The ones for the xs650 are reported to fit some SOHC4 applications.  I am none too familiar with the 500/550s so some further research is probably in order.  Go to racetech's site and see if the 500/550s use the same emulator as the 750s and or compare this to the part number for the xs650s. . . .The price is right for the knock offs being sold at mikes . . .

Later that day . . .my apologies; the link is now fixed . . .
