wont be around a whole lot for the near future
« on: November 12, 2009, 05:02:43 PM »
hard drive on my laptop took a #$%* fixing then selling it to pay vet bills because all 6 cats have a respiratory infection, i may even have to end up finding new homes for 3 of the 6 cats since i cant really afford to care for them properly anymore. I'm also having to take the insurance off the 750 for a while too, cant afford the payments. i will be able to check my emails once in a while from the library though. happy holidays to all here.

Hang in there bucky.  The library deal works out.  My older brother was in the same boat - CPU took a dump and couldn't afford to get it back.  He goes 3~4x a week to the local library and surfs/emails for free.

See ya 'round...

you best get to the library as often as you can, someone needs to keep an eye on this bunch.
Hope things go well for you throughout the holidays.!

Jeff, Ditto on what has already been said. Hope things work out for you man, we NEED you to help TRY to keep us somewhat straight. Shame you can't get paid for that, you would be rolling in money. Man, if there's something I can do, let me know.

                                              Take care, Bill ;)

Tough times.  Haven't been able to replace our microwave that broke.  If this computer goes, we're SOL... God forbid something should happen to one of us.

Good luck dude, I did the library route for most of last year.  Bring headphones to drown out the dip #$%* who can't read silently and always seems to sit next to you.

Good luck man, lifes ups and downs can suck but hang in there and you'll get be back. That is some good advice about the headphones, I know I tend to talk to myself when I'm on the puter.

It's scary.  I can remember when a 20meg HD was really big, and there was no way you could fill it.  Now 500Gig is small and I'm into Tera bite drives.

I had an IBM PS/2 with 120MB HD and I think it handled 4MB RAM. It had the wonderful Windows 3.1 running.

We had 8088's in our HS computer class. We were zooming with our cassette storage.  ;D

When I was in 8th grade I built my first computer...1996 I think it was...

It was a 1.6 gigabyte hard drive, 200 mhz, 64 mb of RAM, an 8mb Video card, 33.6 modem! That thing was blazing fast! I could play Kings Quest like nobody's business!
