cb500 gauge vector image help
« on: November 16, 2009, 04:18:01 PM »
Theres a local shop that will print vinyl stickers and I'm going to have them print some custom gauges for my project. i need a template/image to start with. i would rather not tear apart my gauges now just to scan them, plus there in poor shape. anyone have a good pdf or jpeg image of gauges that have the correct speed and rpm indication for a CB500? I've been searching the forum but haven't been able to locate a good quality picture to start with. also, if anyone else is looking for custom faces for a cb500 or cb550 maybe we can agree on an image and i'll have the shop make extra and ship them to those persons interested for the price i can get them for. i've been hoping that Anubis cycle would start taking orders but it's hard to say if/when that will happen. http://www.anubiscycle.com/honda-cb500-gauge-faces.htm
so if you have a good file image or your interested in some gauge faces pm me or post.

EDIT: i'm hoping someone might give me a quick step by step to the vector process using Xara Extreme. after talking with the shop they recommend that i save my images as vector files or TIF images at no less than 300 dpi which i've done.

My CB500 is a k1 with the smaller gauges, which I prefer personally.  Same ones are done on the Motorcycle Classics build http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/black-side-down-replacing-Honda-CB-face-plates.aspx
Thanks to a fellow SOHC4 member I now have the vector files and jpeg images to make the larger cb550 and cb750 gauges. No luck finding the smaller k0-k1 faces. I might try to alter the templates I have since the speed and rpm indication is not correct for the smaller gauges. otherwise I'll have to scan my old gauge faces and try my hand at Photoshop.

Yep, checked that thread. Actually I think ive been through nearly every gauge face thread. At this point I just need a template for a k1 cb500 face. Once I have one I’ll post the files for all the gauge faces (500,550,750) on the Tips & Tricks forum.

I wonder if the CB400F decals from reproductiondecals would work?  The only thing I see that's wrong is the redline.

these are just the jpg as the tif files are too large to post.
