moto insurance in Canada

Hey all you canucks,I may be moving on up to the great white north,what is the insurance like up there,say on my 73cb750????

It's a provincial thing bikerbart so depends where you settle. Quebec has gone insane and I just put a vintage tag on my K3, costs $83. There are tons of restrictions, but to hell with them. I live in a border town so cross into NY or Ontario to ride.

BC has a variety of different ways to insure you ride.  Most are dependent on displacement, age etc.  We can register and insure as classics and that is cheep. You must apply for a special plate along with photos of the bike.  The only catch to that one is "you are only allowed to ride for pleasure"  can't go to work or school on the bike.

A lil of both I think.My wife is canadian and I want my son to have actual health care,but thats another story.

In New Brunswick, PL and PD on my 74 CB550 and my 80 GL1100 is about $120CND a year, But I've had my motorcycle endorsement for almost 20 years now.  What part of the great white north are you looking to settle in?

I'm in Ontario, mine runs me about $600 for the year.  Thought that was a pretty good deal until I read what some of you guys are paying.  Granted, I just got my licence this past summer. 

Couldn't get full coverage without an appraisal, so that's just liability.

I don't know Lenny, shop around there are some out there that are cheaper and less insistent about appraisal.

I'm in Newcastle,which is considered part of the" great" GTA,even though I'm about 60 K away

53 years old,clean record,riding 30 years,and I'm paying approx $550,for just PL/PD,for a 78 550k.

I'm with Jevco,and they are the only ones that I have found who will cover my 30 year old bike

I ride mine around 2000k a year so I don't think I am eligible for classic /antique plates

With insurance companies being like Dictators I do not want to take a chance lieing to them.

Ouch!I pay about 200 a year,I guess we will see.50-60 bucks a month is over 600 a year,that is a huge difference.We are waiting for the real estate market to come up so we dont lose on our house,we may be waiting a long time.

Maybe I'll try RBC.  My driving record is clean, and I've been driving a cage for 20+years.  I was also told no discount for having my motorcycle safety course.

I didn't really shop around, just went with the same company I had my car insured with.  I was told by a couple of buddies that ride that 600 wasn't bad for being a new rider and all, so I just went with it.

I live in Vancouver BC and my 73 CB500 is $600 a year to insure.I think a 750 will fall into the same cc group as mine.

 I would suggest waiting till after the olympics to move as well, this town is going to be a NIGHTMARE to get around in when those are going on.

B.C. CB750 $630.00 per year

If it bone stock and as said before, no work and no school a bit over $100.00 per year for collecter plates and ins.  all prices quoted without collision
