I've used them in the past. More discs = more flow and noise. Use about 8 discs and the optional open end cap and hear how it sounds.

I had a 1982 CB900F a few years ago.  The previous owner had installed a Supertrapp baffle into the Kerker exhaust.  He had only 3 discs installed because he wanted the bike to be quiet.  It was quiet, all right, because the poor thing could barely run.  He had 9 or 10 more discs that I got with the bike, so I experimented a bit with different numbers of discs to see what would happen.  It was interesting to play with, but I ultimately ran it with all the discs removed because it went like the proverbial raped ape that way.  The noise level wasn't that bad.  Just stayed out of the gas when in civilized areas.

My knowledge of Supertrapps is based in the car world. They are fairly easy to tune. However if you live in a smog test area I believe the still will nmot test vehicles with these mufflers. Like Terry said "more noise and more flow". They do have a pretty nice tone. The really nice side is if you rejet the carbs, just add or remove discs.
