CB750 cast wheels
« on: November 26, 2009, 07:06:02 AM »
I am putting together a 75 Cb750K. I would like to put cast wheels on it. The bike is going to be all black and I think that cast wheels are the way to go with it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other models or years that will work on this bike.

as far as I know, the only cast aluminum wheels were aftermarket type. lester was one brand I believe.

Yamaha mags are the right bolt pattern, and not a huge amount of work to adapt.. plus reasonably priced

I have watched Lesters on Ebay, they go for big bucks. I have a friend with a Yamaha XS1000. I will go and do some measuring on his wheels. Thanks!

The XS 750 850 and 1100 are shaftys, may be a bit more machining, need a thick spacer, with machining.

The front will require bearing change and spacers and probably speedo drive mods..

I have a like new set of Lester Mag Wheels I just decided this week to sell. Purchased new by me in the 1970's. They are Semi gloss black with silver highlights 19" front,16" rear and are a direct bolt on to your bike; no other parts necessary. Also, you are about 200 miles by road from me.

Oh Wow, you've gotta take him up on those wheels.  Situations like that don't present themselves every decade.  Even if the asking price seems high, a documented set of wheels like that are bound to double in value over the next few years.

Lester will truly bolt on. A dew others did too but MUCH scarcer.

Morris which I love BTW are great.. Front bolts on but rear requires disc kit (would have come with it), much like using a Yamaha.

Yamaha is the only lo cost one that is the correct bolt pattern, and fairly easy to work with

I will post my Lester mags in the For Sale section later today. I also have a set of Morris mags 19" front and 16" rear bought in the same time period. I just acquired a set of Kimtab magnesium snowflake mags 19" front and 18" rear  on a yoshimura engined donor bike along with a Seeley Honda chassis# sh723. I'm just bragging now because none of these are for sale until my wife plants me for good(not soon,I hope).  ;D ;D
