here it is with paint (not sanded or buffed yet) and the upholstery that will work until i can pay someone to stitch up a really nice seat cover for me. the foam i got is the PERFECT density that i've been looking for. soft enough that i wont get saddle sores but hard enough that i wont feel the seatpan.  Edit : looking at the pic i realize just how ugly the job i did on the upholstery is. got to deal with it until i can come up with the coin for a decent upholsterer.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Interesting seeing the blue and silver together.   I hope you do not mind me saying that I do not think the rear fender and tailight go with the cafe seat.  If there is to be a fender, maybe bobbed and black????

yeah, i put the fender on when i intended to use a refurbed stock seat. however, i really hate not running a fender with the cafe tail, i hate the black line up the back of my jacket when i get into moisture or grease on the road. not sure what i'll do with it. for now though, nothing. i spent 2 years working on it, now it;s time to ride

I've seen a few cafe seat/fender combos on this site before...  I can't remember where, though.  I think it looks alright, though if you can bob the fender, Bucky, that might look hot, too.  The enemy of 'Good' is "Better" though.  Ride that little pony, and let the fender wait for another day!!! 8) 8) 8)

Oh yea, go ride Bucky.  Do not worry about me and my -2 cents, lol.  It might be me staring at the BOTM thread the last year - has my mind warped.

the only wrenching i intend to do for the forseeable future is oil changes, and retorquing the head bolts. i spent way too long on this rebuild in my opinion and now i want to ride. mother nature is co-operating today with 65 degrees and sunny weather.

Yer gonna miss the wrenchin'.  I miss tinkerin' with momma's bike.  I need to dig into it and find something else to do.  I am getting bored sitting in the garage.  Well, I do need to clean the carbs on my bike but that is a far larger project than momma's bike.

Enjoy yourself!

Looking good, Bucky.  The colored frame really pops.  Hope you get many miles under you and many smiles on your face from it.

Looks great Bucky but you got no time to ride it eh.....go do your lawns man! ;D
Sheesh he's got a huge ride-on and he grows a paddock of hay?
Oh yeah an get that poor frame in out of the cold before it rusts!
That'll teach ya to pick a better backdrop for ya bike shots. ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
