Get her a gift certificate at a Spa.  That's the only way they deal with gifts there, so you won't be blamed for getting a "gift certificate" because you don't know what else to get.  Girls love that kind of stuff....getting pampered and the like.  Tell one of your buddies to do the same for his girl, and then both the girls can go together. Kinda like when they have to go to the bathroom at the movies, for some reason they have to go together ::)  Go figure

My wife and I usually take the easy way out and call our vacations our Christmas or birthday or anniversary gifts.  Of course, this year we only got in one major trip, so she gets a digital camera along with one of those Epson PictureMate printers so she can take all the pcitures she wants of the little girl (our 8 month old daughter) and print to her heart's content without constantly pestering me to see and/or have printed the pictures I've taken.

What hobbies does she have?
Is she in to music?
A very nice gadget that is now a reasonable price is an MP3 player.

Along the lines of Steve F's idea, how about a gift certificate to a beauty salon, complete with manicure and/or pedicure? Or a session with someplace like Glamour Shots?

Hey, I'd love to give my wife a motorcycle for Christmas, but I don't have a heated garage where I could sleep.  ;D

I like the Spa gift certificate idea, just make sure it doesn't show the date that it was purchased. :-[

I had it easy this year.  Couldn't figure out what to get my wife, then her car got broken into and the radio was stolen two weeks ago.  So I bought her a new stereo/cd player, and I'm going to install it on Friday while she's at work so when she gets in her car to drive home she'll have a nice surprise!

if she likes music, another option is go on ticketmaster.com and see if there's any of her favourite artists playing in your area over the next few months.

my wife likes AC/DC, and i got her some tickets for an AC/DC "tribute" band last valentines day that were a big hit.

I just tell my wife the limit of how much she can spend and she goes out and buys stuff she wants, wraps it and puts it under the tree.  Makes my job a heck of a lot easier. ;)

I've found there is only ONE thing I can pick out for a woman and she'll like it- flowers. My wife- she gets to pick it out and I pay for it. This year it was a used leather jacket.  Sorry- "vintage" leather jacket.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

My wife saw this presumed elderly person on their two wheeled powered cycle (harley) and they were wearing quite a distinctive T-shirt that she managed to read when elderly person stopped at the next set of traffic lights.

Apart from the many tattoos on the sinewy forearms and giant biceps with cigarette dangling from the mouth, the schwazenegger sunglasses, the words emblazoned on the back of the t-shirt were:

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS - THE #$%* FELL OFF"

Funny thing was as the elderly person rode off they looked right into the car window gave the wife a wink, and then SHE rode off into oblivion.

my wife wants to give me the elderly person for christmas

scares the crap out of me

I was surprised this wasn't mentioned yet.
I got the wife a complete motorcycle training course.  Of course I know she won't count that as a real gift, so I got some girl stuff as well

Gift? For what?

Oh Christmas, yeah I forgot, you heathens call it X-mas?
So what does the X stand for.?.

Boy am I glad I read this post, otherwise I would be sleeping on the couch for another week.

Well, many shopping days left , right? Right?
