Spokes Source?
« on: November 21, 2009, 06:32:02 PM »
Im in the middle of swapping hubs between the 18" rim from my CB500 and the 16" rim from my CB750. The spokes for the 18" rim are trashed. One of the spokes for the 16" wheel was cut for some reason? before I got the bike. Dont know why. Anyways, can you guys recommend a good place to get new spokes for the 18" wheel at a good price, and is there a way I can get just one new spoke for the 16" wheel? The rest on the 16" are in great shape. (btw: the 16" rim is a 3.5in wide Harley rim with a stock Honda hub). Thanks.

No, I dont think you did. That first link you posted should work great for the rear 16. Do you think it matters if there will be a CB750 hub on the CB500 rim? The last link you posted says it fits CB500s and CB750F's. I should ask the seller too. Thank you very much for posting that. :)

well it does say cb500... so...
I think the 500's rear hub is smaller than the 750 but not by enough for it to matter.
maybe a half inch max

edit: mine measures around 10 inches. it's still on the bike so I can't get an exact measurement.

The best I could tell (had both wheels off the bikes side by side) the Hubs are the same diameter and the CB750 one was just slightly wider.

Yea, I have the same rim and spokes and was thinking perhaps it would be worth a try, however since you are planing on it I will wait and see how it works for you! ;-)
