Cycle X Billet Blocks
« on: November 22, 2009, 08:52:18 PM »
I just saw these on the Cycle X web page.
Looks as though they will have sleeves installed into them.

Well, their website does says "Almost done."

We'll see how they compare to Mike's block, though. Like mos things Cycle-X, it will probably be cheaper, but the quality will come into question (for a point of reference, I am running a number of things Cycle-X in my bike and am, so far, vry happy with what I have).

I agree that the JMR Block is far more technically advanced by a mile and is a winner hands down.
As a matter af curiosity, why would the Cyclex blocks not be streetable?
The photos show the unfinished product.

I can't imagine what Mike is feeling right now. I was sort of hoping he might be supplying Cyclex.

One thing is certain, there will be no inferior quality with the JMR brand.  ;)

I think the issue with it being unstreetable is the lack of cooling fins. Without those, the block can't release the heat being built up in the motor as well. I can't imagine they would put out an unfinned cylinder block for an air cooled bike, but there are stranger things out there. This(if it is finished) would most likely be for a drag bike, something that is ran for short periods, then given time to cool.

I highly doubt they are close to being done with those. They clearly still have a ton of material to remove.
