Just get my brother to tow the trailer for you to the track and i'll test  the bike myself-lol. He's leaving ATL on friday.

Now lets see, 260 miles one way, i agreed to pay the entry fee, you can test during time trials at least 3 times and then you go into eliminations, there is 2 rounds of buybacks, first or 2nd round but not both. If you go out, you can still test until the track closes to get valuable seat time and data on the bike. If you make it to the finals, 1st place pays $400 to win, $150 2nd place. Samauto moves closer to being an ATM which will make Sam happy. I'd call this a win-win scenario. Oh yeah, then you get to drive 260 miles back home- hopefully with another smile on your face and a 1.??? , 60' time slip.

As I write this, Sam is most likely on his way to Amsterdam and seven hours from now I'll pick him up from Helsinki-Vantaa airport and we head to Alastaro racetrack...

Three days of drag racing, I sure hope the weather is on our side and Sam likes the taste of Finnish beer  ;D

Bill, i guess you were to tired after the ride to Orangeburg to post the results from todays test/tune/race.

Thanks for coming down to hang out with us. Sorry i was not able to spend much time with you. As you could see, i had my hands full  as usual. Glad Keith came and assisted you- thanks Voodoo for your help also.

My low point of the day was having to race my wife in the 2nd round. It only got worse when she forgot to put her bike in gear and i went on to win the round- her points ended then and i wasn't even signed up for bike points. Oh well, at least she rode back home with me and i don't have to sleep with the dog tonight= that english/american bulldog snores like a grown man.

Frank,I was too tired and my phone battery jack pins have give up the ghost.Gotta go to Verizon and see my options.Frank, food was awesome, nice spread!I stopped and got the fish and chicken out of trailer and chowed down. Thanks for looking out for me/us.The BBQ I ate when you were so kind as to bring me a plate.Well,at least Gladys put us on the trailer! A race for a short while.Gotta sort out the new combination now. Bill
RACE RESULTS
3 qualifying passes,one race.
1st pass 14:06 60 ft 2.58,ET 8.96,MPH 89.78
2nd pass 15:21 60 ft 2.49,ET 8.80,MPH 90.27
3rd pass 16:11 60 ft 2.53,ET 8.86,MPH 90.61
Race (against Gladys) 17:37 60 ft 2.59,ET 8.97,MPH 90.14
We think the springs too weak now, stronger vacuum signal, raising too quick. No breaka 3000 rpm on stall, but was harder to hold back.Gotta sort out carbs etc.
WORK to do.Valdosta coming,we'll be there and be ready!Bill

so biased on 60 foot times, it looks like we are kind of slower than last week
Go back to stock springs?
How did the rest of the bike feel
Check plugs?
Still in Virgina and will be home tomorrow afternoon. I will call you when I get on the road

Well Jim, its like this, Uhhhh, much slower than the last outing in Greer!!!!!! Sounds great idling but is a sick puppy otherwise.

Bottom line in my opinion, the smaller cam is giving a better vaccum signal so the slides with the weaker springs are rising at a faster rate and much higher than before. On the line, the motor is too rich due to the slide height so its likely loading up while he's pre loading for the launch. Bamm light comes down, release brake, go full throttle, ooops, the bike sputters because the plugs are smutty so it takes a minute or two to clear up. Oh no, its still trying to clear up throughout the 1st 60' and a little beyond. Dang. There went the low 2 second  60' and gone is the low 8 second ET. Only seat time would have revealed what was learned this weekend. Crap, back to the drawing board to tune around the new cam. Now where is that extra set of stock diaphram springs????? Jetting???????? Hmm, which way do you go now??????  How about ignition timing??? Retard or advance??? Time to pick a combination and go to the dyno!!!!!!

Tick, tock, tick tock!!!

Bill, thanks so much for coming to spend time with us over in my neck of the woods. I'm sorry all that hard work didn't give the results everyone was hoping for but we enjoyed your company. I've got a feeling that if Samauto was still setup like it was in Greer, Gladys may have been buying back in the 1st round instead of the second.

I kept asking my family members if  you had come over to get something to eat and they told me no. Since you decided to play shy, i got one of them to hook you up with some food and i brought it over to you. I owed you one from the Rock. Jim still has a credit-lol.

YOu guys let me know when you go test in ATL. I may just ride up to observe. Bill, foot still on right peg- was the ground on fire on that side of the bike?? !!!!!!!!!!!!!
