LOL. Back in the day, the easy way to disable the limiter was to disconnect one wire from the ignition module. Carry on, and good luck to all at the track! ;D
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

He needed a 2 step for the launch rpm limiter because he is using an air clutch and delay box as well as being able to better control his high rpm limit- the MSD unit gave him more control.

He should be safe enough even if he don't have gearing high enough, it'll just rev and rev some more being a two smoke. ;D ;D ;D

Yeah Sam, but this ain't no thimble size 175 piston thrashin' around inside, but 1 big 500cc hunk-o-aluminum at upwards of 9000rpm. I'm not concerned about it doin' it once or twice, but Fri time trials thru final rounds Sat.
 And Sunday.

Yeap, they are all good people and a great group to race with. Yes, there is a race at ORangeburg on saturday. Its the last one of the year. I think the pro mod cars will be there also so you get an added treat. Bike class pays $500 to win and $150 second place. Hopefully you can make it to get more seat time in race mod. I might get back on the bike again for this one if all of you are planning to come down.

Let me know.

And do you intend to make it to the ROCK??

It sounds like we've got the gearing to where we want it.  :)
Was it a warm night? The finish line mph seems to have dropped off a little..?

I plan to be there. Have not heard from Jim or Bill on this race. Paul and Don from ATL will be there also. My one armed drag racing buddy Dan intends to come show us why we named him the one armed bandit.

Update from OB. I went out first round to a redlight start. Don won his first round with a .002 light against the track champion. Paul was out next but never got past the 330'. The bike went into a gradual wheelie  that turned into a loop the loop. Although it came over backwards, fortunately the bike missed Paul but that hard concrete track caught him-ouch. Nothing broken per the track EMS but his knees took a really hard hit. He was up and limping. One of them likely has muscle damage. Don's wife drove Paul back to ATL where he went to the hospital. Confirmation via x rays show nothing broken. He goes for an MRI to access muscle damage to one knee. He is in pain both physically and mentally. The bike he crashed belonged to Don. Its mainly superficial damage from what we could see but all repairable.

Send well wishes to Paul guys.

Yes, that would be Paul Cavanaugh, the guy who sometimes write safety and how to articles on Dragbike.com.  He said he would be writing a story on his crash soon.

I hope the bike is sorted out REALLY WELL, so even an unexperienced and incapable rider like my mate Sam will have even half a chance to make it to second round  ::)

You need to take a trip over this way sometime Juha. Sam might need a partner in crime to show those sportbikes who's boss.
