Bill,
What position was the cam in?  Any changes to that planned before Valdosta?

Bill,
At least reset the valve lash back to the card specs. No, it won't run 11's unless you can see your breath. At best, a little quicker to 60'. Should be under a tenth improvement launching on the "new" back brake. The consistency should show once the bike is up to operating temperature. First run will still be a little slow. Go have some fun. Remember the staging sequence. It won't be a big deal after the first couple of passes.

Bill's kickin ass!

Can you guys give me some kind of idea about a day's typical schedule? Curious about things like times you usually do breakfast, leave for the track, head back, start drinking  ;D etc. Sure don't want a newb to mess up a typical racer's schedule.  ;)

Jerry,
If you meet a "typical racer" in our group, please introduce him/her to me. ;D

Friday we get breakfast at the hotel, then drive around 20 minutes to the track, pay for the weekend pass and find our pit slot. Sam and Bill have to pay to race, then get the bikes through tech. Then we've got some wiring to do on Sam's bike. The test and tune  portion is late afternoon/evening? I'd guess leaving the track not later than 9 pm to find a meal.

Saturday and Sunday are run the same. I'd like to be there between 9 and 9:30 am. We leave the track when we lose. If Bill/Sam does well, we could leave as late as midnight. There's no schedule for losing. Sleep may be optional if we do well. I welcome Sam or Bill or Jim's opinions on this. I'll be posting the video Saturday late and Sunday late.

Just what I said before, you release the button at a different point. Street ET, no box - leave on last yellow.  Pro ET you leave on first yellow and the delay box will delay you until the right moment for a .00X reaction. Staging is exactly the same. All your other motions are exactly the same. Your ET's are exactly the same. Hopefully, Sam's reaction times are in the same ballpark, favoring the Pro ET side. Generally, the Pro ET competition will be closer at the finish line than in Street ET.

Bill, if you're not getting time slips, you can advance the cam and test "on the ground" before next Friday. It can run 12.0's or 11.9's (makes no difference to me) with no history. I'm just going to be busy on next Friday, getting the run history from that day. If you even think that the bike may run an 11, please give me a way to dial-in an 11, not a 12.XXX

For our newcomers to Valdosta, remember a hat and comfortable walking shoes. You're standing on pavement, sitting on concrete or aluminum in the stands, and walking a few miles during the weekend. Might as well be comfortable while you're there. A fall jacket for after the sun goes down will also help. ;)
