Showing test and tune, Saturday 12th March. ;)

Sam. ;)
Sam,
Still waiting for an answer from Carolina Dragway. I'm sure they will let you test but it would be nice to get the official word. Keith posted the testing question on their website and i just followed up about the status. If you get a minute, try to post on the thread also. The more that inquire, hopefully the quicker we will get an answer. On the other hand, we might piss them off for badgering them-lol.

Here's the link:http://carolinadragway.yuku.com/topic/1592/master/1/?page=1.

Looks like Macon could be the 2nd choice for you. Will try to make it to whatever track you settle on.

Thanks' Keith, Frank and John, (WTF is John :D) Hey Mr Loney, I hope you're not leading a double life with lots of different women in tow ;D  I'll have to have words with that good looking wife of yours (or was it your daughter) :D :D :D :D :D
Thanks for all that you guys are doing anyway. I've posted on the Carolina board (House of Hook) http://carolinadragway.yuku.com/topic/1592/master/1/?page=1
and got a bit of a surprise, I already have a avatar with it being a Yuku board 8)

Hi Jon, I don't have a problem with running over the 8th mile. Over the last 20 years, I've probably done more 8th mile events than quarters.
The bigest problem will be getting to grips with a new bike that will probably launch a lot quicker and harder than anything I've ever been on.
Second problem is learning how to drag race. In the last 36 years I've only competed in 3 drag races and even they were all over the 8th mile. Learning to read the lights at the same time as learning to ride the new bike is going to be some experience.
I'll dig out some time slips that show the differences racing a bike that I knew but not the track, then slips where I was on a much more powerfull and strange bike on a very well prepaired track that I had never raced on.

Sam. ;)
It will launch like a couch on wheels Sam. ;) I purposefully did not build a fire breathing dragon....it would not be practical considering what you are doing. Believe me....the engine will certainly have nuts but you are looking for good, respectable times and a manageable ride. You will have it. Don't worry about the launch stuff so much.....just ride it. The engine will do what you want it to. ;)

Hey Murphy, the motor is the last thing I will worry about, that's why I got YOU to tune and build it. The only thing I do worry about though, where did that set of 4 lead pistons and rubber cam go that I saw lurking in your workshop?  :D :D :D :D :D

Sam,

Rene served as race director when i competed there a few years ago. As far as i know, he still holds that position as a track official. You should be good to go to test at Carolina based on Rene's word. We will still badger the Miles siblings to give us an official word.

Ok, John is an alias. I'm in a witness relocation program :-[ and if you ask me what secrets i know, the guys in the black suits will hunt you down and shoot you dead.

Will let the wife know you think i look as old as you do- lol.

Hey, Sam, great news! Just got to work and there was an e-mail from Angel Miles, track owner, saying open test and tune session WILL be available both days. So Macon or Carolina, pick your chose.

Got to make the old boy feel like someone gives a damn. Hahahaha. Keith is cool, he just likes to build weird looking motorcycles.

What day do you plan to test Sam??? And please get there well before the gates open, upload as quick as you can and get in staging at the first call. Once the staging lanes are full, you will likely have to wait for a while to make a pass so be prompt. Oh, and if youi park near the fence on the pavement adjacent to staging,  position your rig so you can get out of there easily. In many cases you could get blocked in due to the nature of indiscrimanent parking during this type event. Best bet is to stay away from that area at all costs.
