Ok, I'm trying to be first today with at least a picture! Sam ran in competition. I dialed in the bike. Sam's still speaking to me. That  makes it a good raceday in my  book. In time trials this morning, Sam somehow managed a 13.4 @ 112 mph.(didn't see that one coming) Mike builds a strong top end motor. It has survived our attempts to tame it.  Keeps me confused mostly.. ??? Group picture attempt below. We went to a drag race and a cb750 bike show broke out in the pits! Took lots of pictures of everybody who  stopped by.  Took videos of Sam running his 2 time trials today. We dialed him in at a 13.93 for the first round. I went i  nto the stands to video the run. Low battery followed by a black screen. So no videos by me of Sam's racing  :( Sam ran a 13.948 in that race. His opponent ran .004 over his dial-in. We bought back into the second round. The air was getting better. I dialed Sam in at a 13.82. There were several delays to the start of the second round of the race. It got cooler. Left Sam at the head of staging to find a viewing point. I turned to Big Jim and said with this cooler air, Sam  could run as quick as a 13.79.Well, Sam cut a .020 reaction (really good) and drove it out the back door to a 13.789 on his 13.82 dial-in. A break out to end our day. It's really hard to guess  the dial-in for the current bike. We all are trying our best for the first round win.  Off to supper with Bill and Sam. More to come.

Cheese and crackers!  You guys keep picking up a tenth of a second every run.  That is fantastic - except of course for the dial in   :P
It was very nice meeting you all today.  Great group of guys all having a blast, nicely done up bike.  Doesn't get any better than that.   8)

Good luck tomorrow fellas.

Well done Sam!
Just a comparison... my brothers '83 GPz 750 a couple of years ago ran 102mph @ 1/4
and my GS 1100, when it was stock with over 100 000 miles on the clock but still pulling well, 109mph.

A strong CB you have there  ;)

Don't worry 'bout the unpredictability of dial-ins yet guys, It takes MANY,MANY documented passes with NO changes on a already well-sorted combination to get reliable, predictable ETs.
Ya'll have made huge gains and should be proud of what you've done so far. The best is yet to come.
.020 light Sam, now that's racy.
Best of luck to you all today and be safe.

I was dead beat last night and we all turned in early after a nice meal at the local Texas Steak House.
The bad news is, I let you all down and went out in the first round despite runing 13.94 on a 13.93 dial in.
Jon Weeks sure got the figures right despite the fact that the bike was running faster every run and right up to the eliminations, it was a hard call.
He even had to change it just before running when the temprature dropped a little.
Although I lost out, Jon and the crew were more than satisfied with my effort and coughed up $40 and paid for me to get back in.
In the next round I came up against another Busa and Jon Dialed in 13.82. I cut a .020 light but managed to out run the dial with a 13.78, again Mr Weeks right on the money.
Both the bike and myself were improving with every run and there is still plenty more to come. The MIKE RIECK motor sure is strong and ran a best of 13.486 at 112.29mph. The let down in the first round was down to me when I cut a slow light with .165, I'm not sure how happend as I had been in the zero twos and had a best of .014 just the run before.
One thing to remember is the fact that I'm a Sprinter, not a drag racer so all in all I was quite pleased with my effort.
On a funny note, something I learned after it was all over was that I had caused quite a big betting frenzy in the stands with every body wanting to bet on the English dude on the Samatic. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Real nice meeting all the relay riders and Godzilla was strapped to  Samatic for a blast down the strip ;D ;D ;D ;D
Must go, late for breakfast.

Just had a nice breakfast and so it should be at $139 a night (senior ctizen rate) :D :D :D :D it's great being old ;D
Today will see Billy on the bike and I'll take bets on him running a very low 13. The weather is going to be cooler and with the bike improving run by run, I'm sure he'll be there. ;)
Off to the track now and will try to keep you all updated from there.

Don't be apologizing Sam, you sure aren't letting anyone down getting quicker!

Improving a bike that runs for 13 seconds a few time a day, is a huge task. To get to where you are at this point is tremendous, bloody good work, congratulations all. There is no surprise the engine is strong, Mike doesn't know any other way.

Sounds like you have all the puzzle pieces and are fitting them together quite quickly. Don't forget to have fun along the way fellas.  ;)

Bills 13.286 run on a 13.23 by Mr Weeks took the busa who dialed a 9.39 and ran a 9.445
Bill also had the legend off the line with a .035 to a .095. 8) 8) 8) 8)

Just missed getting in the money, Bill went out in the 3rd round on a double break out :( on the good news side, he shut down early as his oponent was way behindand despite doing that recorded the bike fastest time to date, a 12.948. Could have been a 12.5. ::)
