I'm grateful to have this time for racing now. I've spent 10 yrs as a part time caregiver for relatives ranging from aunts to most recently my own father who passed away on Christmas day. I couldn't play with the toys like i can now so i hope to make up for lost time.

Sorry you guys can't make that trip. We're undecided about the cup race in Valdosta.

Give some thought to coming to the Red Cross charity event at Greer Dragway on August 26th. Greer isn't that far from ATL off I-85 and the race is for a good cause. We have lots of fun. I think Debbie Knebel posted the flyer on the home page of dragbike.com. Small payouts but its a really fun event and the spectators are off the wall. You'll even get to see a few nitro Harleys make passes.

Fellas, i really would like for you to make the Greer race if at all possible. The spectators will absolutely love this bike and you will have a blast. Its a fast paced race with round robin eliminations. And yes, even the Hells Angels will be in attendance so be on your best behavior.

Chompin' @ the bit to twist that throttle on Samauto.I want to KNOW!This is the best set up so far.Ignition should be better, carbs should be better, and gearing definitely better. The rider? Well.....
he's much better too, left leg finally coming back.Sunday was first time since Rock in May that I could even try to run..a 1/4 lap!Could run 2 miles easily before I fell asleep in chair and cut off circulation to it. Don't reccommend it! Still can shift though.Greer on the 26th...stay tuned,12's or 295 cam going in! Bill

This is an 1/8th mile track so that 12 second pass will have to be redirected for local testing at Commerce in the 1/4 mile. I don't recall the best 1/8th mile times of the bike- can you refresh my memory???

Billy, I'm not sure how those times are going to help as they were set when the motor was getting stronger with every run. (new motor loosening up)
Since then, it has run 13 times with ETs varying from 8.804 to 9.172 (nearly 4 10ths difference) in tempratures varying from 81 to 93 degrees.  Add to that a gearing change and drop in altitude of 154 feet and the fact that you will be running at night. Something tells me you're going to have your work cut out trying to figure your dial in, good luck mate.

Sam. :-\

P.S. there's a hidden message in there somewhere. ::)

I dont work for a living Mike............All I do is go to my shop at my house and sit in an air conditioned shop
and have a lot of fun welding......

As far as my customer base then they might think I work for a living but they don't know everything........
but they do help pay the bills.........and in this screwed up economy thats all I can ask for.......

I still have a lot of fun doing what I do

As far as Greer its a go on this end
I will need to get with Bill to work out when he wants to leave
as far as being the mechanic/ part time tuner on this team, I am more interested in seeing how the bike will run with the changes
and just worry about getting Bill consistent off the line.
Lets go and have fun...........

If you can get away around 1 Bill then we should get there about the time the gates open.
Give us a couple of hours to set up
and practice starts at 5

I'm sure we won't get there when the gates open due to our work obligations but i would suggest that you guys do your best to arrive BEFORE the gates open so you can find a good spot and get a feel for  the atmosphere. We normally try to park in the lot on the left just as the staging lanes go down the hill to the right. Now if you could get the kick starter to work on the bike you could participate in the kick and go contest with me on my F model.  That class always get the rowdy crowd pumped up beyond description. Umm, and when the top fuel Harleys light up, take my advice and stay upwind or you'll be crying like a baby and i'll have to laugh at you til i roll on the ground-lol.

Billy, I'm not sure why you are discounting the practice runs. it ran a best of 8.804 and the slowest was 9.183 = .379. Maybe the carbs wern't right or the ignition was starting to show signs of failing which we now know about, all I'm saing is we have nothing to go off and if whats been done to the bike since don't improve things, we're up the creek without a paddle. I'm just hoping and praying that we see some consistent times on Friday irespective of how fast or how slow just so we know it will repeat.
Do you remember at Valdosta when Chad went out by being two 10ths off his dial, with the auto it just shouldn't happen,  it shouldn't be that far out. Anyway, just have a good time on Friday and we'll talk in a few months.
